Dates to Remember
Hello SAPMS Families!

I still have not gotten used to arriving each day and seeing how beautiful our campus is! I hope you feel the same way. We are fortunate to have such supportive parents and community members- even students- who contribute their time and energy for our school. Thank you!

We have two interns from Flagler beginning next week. Miss Ellie will be spending time in Miss Kim's room two days a week as well as developing a Spanish curriculum to share with our students. Her guiding professor is a parent here at SAPMS. Our second intern, Miss Sarah will be joining us 8 hours a week focusing on garden projects including certifying our school through the National Wildlife Federation.

Aftercare is a huge success! I'm so thankful we can offer this to our families this year. Even if you may use aftercare "sometimes" we would still ask that you fill out a contact form incase of any emergency.

Discovery Ed testing will be conducted for 1st and 2nd graders over the next 2 weeks. This is a very non invasive process and we do not discuss the test ahead of time with the students- it really is a non event. Mr Chris will pull a handful of students at a time during morning work cycle and conduct a not-so-long test and then return your students to their classrooms. Please send your 1st and 2nd graders to school each day, on time and with ear buds or ear phones. The ear buds/phones may be stored at school until your child uses them and then they will be returned home. Thank you for your help.

We have a few spots available in Lower Elementary. If you know of someone who could benefit from joining our community, please share the good news of SAPMS with them. Unfortunately, we have no Upper El spots available at this time.

Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. As always, we greatly appreciate your continued support!

Jamie

Class Mayor!
Miss Melanie's class Mayor and the passing of the feather. The class elects a new mayor about once a month. It is an honor to be voted in by your peers to lead the classroom.
What is a Community Meeting?
A community meeting is when our whole school meets to discuss important topics that affect us all, some logistical and some Montessori pedagogy. It's a fun time to meet teachers, assistants, Board Members and a great opportunity to see volunteer needs for fundraising and other tasks around the school.

Our First Community Meeting is:
Tuesday, August 30 @ 6 pm
Flagler College
What is Hat Snack  Friday ?
Part of Montessori education is grace and courtesy. We respect one another, we serve one another, we are mindful of one another.  Each classroom spends time individually working toward these goals. Hat Snack  Friday  will be our first school wide opportunity to practice our grace and courtesy skills. The teachers will model serving and caring for one another through a skit, then the children will have an opportunity to serve one another. We ask that everyone bring a fun hat to wear during our Hat Snack  Friday  experience. You'll be hearing from your child's teacher as to any items needed for this event.
Rising Sea; Rising Community
Thursday, September 15, 7-10 pm at the St Augustine Amphitheater

on the some important topics our world is facing. Our own Miss Melanie will be speaking. T he documentary filmed at the March for Future Generations- led by students from SAPMS- will be premiered. There will be music, guest speakers, and consciousness- raising. Please consider attending what should prove to be a worthwhile and important community gathering.
