PICKS OF THE WEEK
If you love silents as much as I do, please make sure to see Pola Negri in
A WOMAN OF THE WORLD this Saturday afternoon at Cinefamily.
During film school, I saw tons of movies. Some were forgettable and some have been permanently etched in my memory. While it was banned for decades, I got the chance to see TITICUT FOLLIES and it certainly falls into the later category. Master Frederick Wiseman spent 29 days chronicling life and brutal conditions inside the Bridgewater State Hospital for the Criminally Insane. What emerges is a portrait that is shocking, repulsive and impossible to forget. This film is not for the faint of heart, but well worth seeing. It will be playing August 27th - 31st at Cinefamily.
