The Black Resource Center is looking for students who are interested in joining our Volunteer Program. 

This is a unique opportunity for professional development through leadership training, research, and outreach.

Call for Proposals
 Practices of Black Studies
Black Studies Project @UCSD and Consortium for Black Studies in California
 
The Black Studies Project (BSP) at UC San Diego is pleased to announce the availability of funds to support existing and emerging workshops that engage Black Studies. We are looking to support workshops or seminars organized by faculty or graduate student groups, campus organizations or informal working groups.
 
Possible topics include but are not limited to:
- Methods of Black Studies
-Community-making and Black Studies
-Black Studies and Digital Humanities
-Black Studies Pedagogy
-Performance and Black Studies
-Black Migration
-Black Studies and Social Justice
 
Possible Award:
We are able to provide funds up to $1,000 for each workshop. Preference will be given to proposals that are both feasible and relevant to the broader theme.
 
Application deadline: Monday September 19, 2016
Award decisions will be made by October 1, 2016

Selected Fellows collaborate with African universities on projects of 14-90 days in the areas of curriculum co-development, graduate student teaching/mentoring and research. Projects are completed in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda. The date for application review is December 8, 2016. Fellows have the opportunity to engage with Greek universities for one project visit of 14-60 days. Activities for this program are curriculum co-development, graduate student teaching/mentoring and research. The last day to apply is September 1, 2016.
