The Eagle Extras is back and better than ever!  Read on for interesting information and upcoming events.
Welcome Back!
By now, you're in full school mode and have hopefully figured out your routine. We are so happy to have you and your children back on campus! Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you or your child enjoy Grace Episcopal Day School as much as we do!
Hands on Thinking:

Have you heard about the Think Tank yet?   Filled with STEM (science, technology,   engineering, and math) activities, the Think Tank provides students with hands on activities for collaborative learning and critical thinking.  The space is open to all students, starting with our littlest learners, up to our Middle School students.  The fourth grade ended the first week of school in a "very small way" as they headed to the Think Tank to make models of plant and animal cells. Having learned about cell parts, groups of students were challenged to represent organelles using a variety of items from balloons to buttons!
Can you "print" this for me?

Grace Episcopal Day School was fortunate enough to receive a 3D Printer over the summer! We would like to thank the Reeds for this generous donation. The 3D printer will be housed in the Think Tank and can be used by any student with assistance from Mrs. Reynolds, the technology teacher. Our students can't wait to "pri nt their creations!
Grace Parents Association:

Please join us for the first Grace Parent's Association meeting this Monday, August 29th. We will meet following Flag (at 8:20), in the Grace House. All are welcome! Immediately following this meeting will be the Homeroom Parent's meeting, also in the Grace House. If you're a room parent, join us for both!

Artist of the Week:

This week's Artist of the week is Alexis from the first grade. Her "twistable crayon" drawing depicts what she did over her summer vacation.  Looks like you had a fun summer, Alexis!
