95 Percent of Entrepreneurs Self-Fund Their Startups
The global financial crisis has left a lingering mark on entrepreneurship across the globe, with 95 percent of entrepreneurs relying on their own funding for startup ventures, and only 0.16 percent of U.S. small businesses receiving venture capital in 2015. This, according to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor 2015-2016 Special Report on Entrepreneurial Finance. Read more »

Professor of Entrepreneurship Practice Daniel Isenberg shares his view on the evolution and spread of the sharing economy and the concept of entrepreneurship ecosystems, noting that "all entrepreneurship is a form of sharing."  Read more »
Welcome, Sam Bensley, Babson's New Alpine Ski Coach!
Sam Bensley Babson Associate Athletics Director Kirsten Clark announced that Sam Bensley will take over as the head men's and women's alpine ski coach in September. Bensley replaces Chris Jacobs '10, who led both programs to top-10 finishes at the United States Collegiate Ski & Snowboard Association National Championships last winter.  Read more »

GE Ventures CEO Sue Siegel GE Ventures CEO Sue Siegel will deliver the keynote address at the Babson Breakaway Challenge Finale, Friday, September 30, at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston. Babson Executive and Enterprise Education (BEE) has launched Launch and Grow: The Kenyan Women's Entrepreneurial Leadership program, a first-of-its-kind, high-impact program for women entrepreneurs from the region. Vice Provost Candida Brush Babson College Vice Provost of Global Entrepreneurial Leadership Candida Brush has been named to the board of Anchor Capital Advisors LLC. Brush is a full professor and holder of the F. W. Olin Chair in Entrepreneurship, and serves as the Vice Provost of Global Entrepreneurial Leadership. William P. Bulgarian Students Learn Entrepreneurship at Babson
Babson recently hosted a Summer Entrepreneurship Program administered by the Institute of International Education, providing a short-term, non-degree, experiential learning opportunity for 30 Bulgarian students from all accredited universities in Bulgaria and for young professionals under 35 years old. Faculty Survey Finds Awareness of Open Educational Resources Low but Improving
Awareness of open educational resources (OER) among U.S. higher education teaching faculty has improved but still remains known to less than a majority, according to a new report from the Babson Survey Research Group. Survey results, using responses of more than 3,000 faculty, show that OER status is not a driving force in the selection of educational materials--with the most cited barrier being the effort required to find and evaluate such materials.
