You Made Distribution Day a Success
On
August 6, 2016, families in the Denton Independent School District who rely on the Free and Reduced Meal Program picked up back-to-school assistance with IFM Denton's Apple Tree Project. You are a big part of our success in getting 1,500 students back-to-school assistance!
We had long-time volunteers and new ones alike. We appreciate you all. CoServ, DATCU, Fidelity and SPARK (TWU) sent volunteers to represent their businesses or organizations. At times it was hot and hectic, but staff and volunteers remained calm and cheerful on Distribution Day. We did it for the kids.
Long-time Apple Tree Volunteer Nettie Zehms led a team of volunteers who organized and packed each backpack with clothing over the past month. Many on her team volunteered multiple hours each week to ensure the backpacks were ready for Distribution Day. Here's a special thanks to Nettie and her crew:

Volunteers Also Helped with Registration
It's hard to believe, but volunteers were at it back in May
registering students and families. Thank you to everyone who donated their time and talents during the registration period.
Together we helped students
start the year with a smile.
