Short term pain that goes away is okay
Long term pain is an indication that something is wrong
No Need to Suffer!
Why do you ride your bike? Escape the pressure of daily life? Manage stress? Lose weight? Spend time with family and/or friends? Build your fitness?

No matter why you ride, please remember that riding a bike does not mean that you have to suffer. Sure, we all have some smaller aches and pains that appear and disappear during longer rides. But, whenever long term pain shows up and stays with you, THAT is a problem. Get some help or assistance and get rid of the pain.

Sometimes our riding techniques or our positions (maybe even how the bike is set up) can cause pain and discomfort. I ride thousands of miles every year WITHOUT long term pain.

So, if you find that riding your bike is a pain, get some help. Get rid of that pain so that you can enjoy riding your bike for years to come!
