The Jersey Cares Halloween Costume Drive
Each year, Jersey Cares receives requests for 2,000+ Halloween costumes for children who may not be able to enjoy the holiday fun.
On September 1st, we will begin accepting new and gently-used Halloween costumes for children of all ages.
For more information on how you can get involved, please email Vanessa Martinez at [email protected].

Corporate volunteers have many exciting opportunities to make a difference this August and September! While we are wrapping up our School Supply Drive, you still have time to start collecting supplies in your office, and we will get them to kids who need them through August 19th. In September, we will also begin our Halloween Costume Drive, through which we will accept new and gently used Halloween costumes to be given to children who may normally miss out on the fun that other children get to enjoy.
September 11th Week of Service and Remembrance is also upon us, and we are featuring a special project in Philadelphia alongside our partners at Starbucks. Join us as 500 volunteers bring New Jersey's communities together on a day that was intended to tear them apart, while 300 volunteers revitalize a local community center in West Philadelphia! To learn how your company can get involved, contact Michelle Dee.

Volunteer with Jersey Cares in Philadelphia!
Jersey Cares is excited to share an opportunity to participate in a special 300-person project on Saturday, September 10th as we revitalize a community center in West Philadelphia.
Sponsored by Starbucks, the aim of this project is bring together corporations, community groups, faith-based organizations, and voters of all convictions against the backdrop of the current political climate to show that we have more in common than that which divides us.
The project will take place at the West Philadelphia Community Center on September 10th from 8:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
The challenges we will tackle include:
- Brightening classrooms and hallways with fresh coats of paint
- Decorating the community center with inspirational hallway and window murals
- Building raised planter beds in the playground garden
- Weeding the community center garden
- Assembling Snack Bags for the Boys and Girls Club

September 11th
Week of
Service & Remembrance
As part of the national movement to preserve September 11th as a day of service and remembrance, Jersey Cares will engage 800 volunteers between September 9th and 10th. On this particularly momentous 15th anniversary, volunteers will come together to make our communities stronger on a day that was intended to tear them apart.
Projects will include landscaping local parks, sorting food donations, and creating better learning environments by brightening school walls.
