Weekly Update

Cornelius Pass Road Improvements Continue
Cornelius Pass Road between Cornell Road and U.S. 26 carries approximately 40,000 vehicles per day. It is an important commuter and truck route connecting Highway 30 in Multnomah County to Tualatin Valley Highway in southern Hillsboro and has not been adequate for existing traffic or projected traffic growth in the area. This project will widen Cornelius Pass Road between Cornell Road and U.S. 26 to three lanes in each direction with a center median and dedicated turn lanes at several intersections, including U.S. 26.

Additional improvements include:
  • sidewalks on both sides of the roadway
  • buffered bike lane on the west side of the road
  • separated two-way bike path on the east side
  • intersection upgrades
  • additional street lighting (south to Aloclek Drive)
Construction is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2016. Please remember to drive slowly and safely through the work zone.
