Pulpit Announcements
We heard you! Announcements Sunday morning will be reduced to those that are most important and timely. We know that long announcements before or during worship can be distracting and reduce your enjoyment. We also know that there are things congregants need to know. If you have an announcement, please be sure to send it to Margie to include in the Scoop
(deadline Tuesdays at 9:00 am).
This will ensure they will be in the program.

Young Adult Group
Young Adult (Ages 18-35)
We are thinking about starting a Covenant Group (like Small Group Ministry) for the young adults in our congregation. It would meet once or twice a month on Friday evenings. If you are interested in being part of this group,
She will create it if there's interest.
(This new group would begin in September.)

Journey Group Leaders Needed
We are starting a new Journey Group to meet once a month on Friday night. We need two leaders for this group. Leaders will get both training and monthly materials to help lead the group. In addition, you will be invited to join a leaders group where you can meet monthly with other Journey Group leaders in other congregations. (Journey Groups are very similar to Small Group Ministry Groups.) If you're interested, please see Rev. Peggy Clarke.

A Failing Democracy?
Our denomination has taken up the question of how our democracy is working and how it's not working as intended.
Our congregation, in partnership with the congregation in White Plains, will start a Democracy Team to participate in this denominational investigation. We'll begin by reading Parker Palmer's book Healing the Heart of Democracy: The Courage to Create a Politics of the Human Heart. Please join us for our first conversation on Sunday, September 25th
after worship. (More details to come.)

One of the greatest Unitarian theologians of the 20th century was James Luther Adams. We're going to read three of his essays (one a month). Pick up a copy of The Essential James Luther Adams and join us!

Lend a Ride
Our Ministerial Intern, Emily DeTar,
is looking for people who would be interested
in giving her rides to the church from the Hastings train
station
on different Sundays and other weekly events.
It would make such a big difference
if you would be so kind
to lend a ride.
