Proposal to bring minister to full-time salary
Last Sunday, Ian Hunter made a presentation about the financial implications of the proposal to call Rev. Russ Menk as our full-time settled minister.
This will be voted on at a congregational meeting in two separate votes: the first (scheduled on Sunday, September 11) will be to increase the minister's salary in the current fiscal year to be "seven eighths" of the mid-point salary for a UUA minister in this region, and, in the following fiscal year (2017-2018), to bring his salary to the mid-point level for a UUA minister in this region. The second vote (date TBD): To call Russ to be our settled minister. For the full text of this presentation,

.
Next Sunday, Ginny Aragon will talk about the goals for growth that will provide a stable financial base to support a full-time minister.

August Book Club
Tuesday August 16th at 7pm.
The Bee Keepers Apprentice by Laurie King.
In 1915, Sherlock Holmes is retired and quietly engaged in the study of honeybees in Sussex when a young woman literally stumbles onto him on the Sussex Downs. Fifteen years old, gawky, egotistical, and recently orphaned, the young Mary Russell displays an intellect to impress even Sherlock Holmes.
Full of brilliant deduction, disguises, and danger, The Beekeeper's Apprentice, the first book of the Mary Russell-Sherlock Holmes mysteries, is "remarkably beguiling" (The Boston Globe).
We usually spend about an hour talking about our book of the month.
We would love to have you join us!

Small Group Ministry
New Group Starting in September
Small Group Ministry provides an opportunity to pursue deeper spiritual questions, to be further challenged to social action and spiritual growth, and to express Unitarian Universalist principles in the congregation and in the larger community. With 8-10 people, it allows us to use deep listening to be present in each other's lives in an open, supportive, and nurturing environment. A new group will begin meeting the week of September 5. Non-members are welcome to apply. Please pick up a registration form on Sunday or at the Fellowship Office. The final date to register is Monday, August 15. Questions?
