An opportunity to serve and share
Each Sunday as we give back to the Lord with our tithes and offerings, there is also a chance for someone to give back of their talent through our offertory. We are currently working to schedule offertories for the coming months, and we need you! T his is not a time of judging; it's a time to share your love of God and your God-given talents with the church.  If you have a talent you would like to share during this time, please contact Pastor Brent. All ages are welcome and encouraged to take part.
Hot dogs in the park
This Sunday, join us at 5:30 p.m. in Andrews Park for hot dogs and fellowship! We'll enjoy some great food and get to know our neighbors.

Young adult BYOM BBQ
It's that time again, young adults! Time for the annual NCCN BYOM BBQ at Pastor Brent's!

You know the routine: You bring the meat, we supply the grill to cook it, the sides to enjoy with it, and the drinks to wash it down with.

Join us September 18 at 6 p.m. at Pastor Brent's house for great food and fellowship. For directions, check with Craig or Pastor Brent.

JOY trip to Fort Worth

The JOY (Just Older Youth) group will take a trip to Fort Worth on the Heartland Flyer on October 8. If you are interested, there is a sign-up sheet on the Welcome Center. We will leave at 8:50 a.m. and return at 8:50 p.m.If you have any questions, see Delbert Hart.
Daniel Plan - sundried tomato turkey burgers
Need a lighter option for your Labor Day cookouts? Try this recipe, courtesy of the Daniel Plan:

3 tablespoons sundried tomatoes
1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil
1 pound organic ground turkey meat
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
2-3 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
1 tablespoon garlic, minced
1 1/2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
pinch of salt
pinch of black pepper

Cover the sundried tomatoes in warm water and soak until soft, about 10 minutes. Drain and chop tomatoes into small pieces. Combine all ingredients and form four patties. grill, pan-sear, or bake in the oven at 350 until internal temperature reached 165 degrees; about 10 minutes.

Can be served as-is, over a large salad, or with a whole grain bun with all the fixings.
Good and Beautiful God
Have you ever challenged what you think you know about the character of God? The messages you adopt about God, both positive and negative, affect how you live your life, whether you are aware of them or not. Starting this Sunday, Pastor Brent will begin a new sermon series based on the book The Good and Beautiful God: Falling in Love with the God Jesus Knows.  This powerful series will present topics that will spur deep conversation and thought with the ultimate goal of spiritual transformation. Therefore, an intimate community space will be provided for those who want to dig deeper, and for those who want to wrestle with the concepts presented from the book. Lead by Ron Dech, this group will meet on Wednesday nights in the pastor's office at 6:45 p.m. If many people are interested, multiple small groups will be formed.

We highly encourage everyone in our church community to read this book during this series. You can purchase it online, or connect with Pastor Brent about obtaining a copy.
NCCN 101
Beginning in September, Rick Short will lead NCCN 101, a small group looking at the history, theology, and polity of our congregation and the Nazarene denomination. If you are interested in becoming a member of the church or just learning more about NCCN and the denomination, talk to or email Pastor Brent to let him know whether a Sunday morning or Wednesday night class would work better for you.
