Good bye and thank you to our summer intern Ali!

The CJF Marketing International team would like to thank our summer intern, Alison DeZaio for the exceptional job she did. In just six short weeks, Ali assisted with the prep work for a couple of Trade Shows, including the extremely busy IPW where we represented six of our clients. She also helped us to prep for the Canadian Sales Mission, produced a Seaport District power point presentation for the NYC Concierge Vendor Show, reported on a Brand USA webinar in which she participated, and...assisted us with the launch of this new company newsletter! We wish you the best of luck Ali during your Senior year at Monmouth University and please know you are welcome back any time!

Good-bye lunch for Ali at our favorite restaurant, Sophie's Bistro, along with Christina Tremaine (C.T.), Marketing and Admin Assistant.

Though multiple forecasts are calling for subdued growth during retailers' second-biggest selling season, the industry's trade organization is making the case that shoppers are ready to stock up on new clothes and supplies to kick off the school year. And it has the data to support it.

The National Retail Federation said it expects families to spend $75.8 billion to get their kids prepared for kindergarten through college. That would represent a gain of 11 percent over last year's prediction for $68 billion.

The U.S. Welcomed a Record Number of Overseas Tourists in 2015

The year 2015 was the first that overseas arrivals to the U.S., or those excluding Canada and Mexico, made up nearly 50 percent of all international visitors as markets such as China continued to increase their market share.

CJ's comments:  As the article points out, we may see a softening in the international markets in 2016. For shopping centers, the international markets will still contribute to incremental sales increases due to the traveler's desire for American brands. We always target several of the top markets due to potential volatility in any one country, and we also keep our eye on the domestic market. So either way, we are covered!
