Your weekly blip from all of us at Little Timber Quilts & Candy!
Greeting Quilters and Lovers of Fine Candies!
School is starting up for most kids this week, and the mornings hint that fall is coming! What are you doing to soak in the last bit of summer? Now is the time to start thinking about all those fall and Christmas projects (unless you are like me and procrastinate until the week before Christmas!)  We have some wonderful Christmas lines as well as some fun glow in the dark Halloween fabric! We can help get you all squared away so you can start working on all of those gifts and home decor projects!

Speaking of school starting, our Back To School Sale is going on until Friday! We have some awesome deals on select floor model Janome machines-- 50-60% off! Ruler, mats, and rotary cutters are also 20% off as well as $1 off/pound on candy! Need a gift for your child's teacher? Candy is ALWAYS a good option!

This weekend, we had one of the most enjoyable classes I have ever participated in! Jeanne Downey of Stitches and Steel out of Broadview came and taught us so many neat techniques to turn fabric into flowers, and how to make the design really pop out! Here is a picture of our class! You can see more pictures on our Facebook page here

Our class had so much fun that we are thinking of starting a club that would meet weekly, similar to our Machine Embroidery Class, and work on a BOM pattern that Jeanne has available. Currently we are looking at Friday's starting in January! We are tentatively looking at having Jeanne come in once every three months to go over techniques for the different flowers that are in the pattern, and work on using different media to shade and texture the fabric to make the flowers come alive! Basic sewing skills are needed, but really anyone can do this! It is going to be awesome! I do have the BOM pattern here at the store, and I would be happy to chat with anyone interested or get feedback!

Charm Square Idea! This is GENIUS!

I was perusing the Missouri Star Quilt company website, and I came across Jenny Doan's latest quick quilt tutorial. This is a FANTASTIC way to make a cute quilt out of charm packs! We have some lovely charms at the store that would be perfect for this quilt! In fact, I may just have to crank some out for Christmas gifts! Check out her "Super Duper Easy Hourglass" video below!

I am thinking this quilt would look awesome made out of our Walking on Sunshine line at LTQ!

New Stonehenge Fabric!

I am sure most of you are familiar with Northcott's Stonehenge fabrics...they now have a bright basics line, and I am in the process of getting the entire line! Every month for the next few months, I will be received two of the color ways.... this month I got these beautiful fabrics in. It makes me think of watermelons! What would you do with these?

Finally, some humor for your day! This is the story of my life.....

I hope you can come in and take advantage of our awesome sale going on this week! Talk to you soon and happy sewing!
