We appreciate your interest in our organization and our mission; to help fund the ongoing research to find a cure for cancer. This newsletter is for sharing our most recent news, our upcoming events, and ways that you can help. See our past news here. As long as there is research to be done, our voices of hope will sing out for the cure!

Broadway for Life

Our annual fall gala has been cast, and rehearsals are underway!  This years theme, Broadway for Life, brings us back to our roots in musical theater ranging from such classics as Guys and Doll, Anything Goes and 42 Street, to contemporary energy of Working, Footloose and Kinky Boots!  It is a truly special, one night only event that you won't want to miss.

Tickets are already on sale through the North Shore Music Theater Box Office.  Our previous production sold out weeks in advance, so make sure you buy your tickets early!

As always, proceeds from our production will go to the Termeer Center for Targeted Therapies at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center.
Apologies to the Tennis Committee!

VOH is full of members who work tirelessly on our behalf, and while we try to recognize them all, occasionally a mistake gets made!  Many apologies to the Tennis Committee, who planned our second annual Volley for Hope.  You all deserved a giant thank you in the last newsletter!  It was a great day, and a wonderful fundraiser.

Recent Events

Summer comes, and it seems Voices of Hope sings the National Anthem everywhere!  It's so wonderful to be a part of so many events, from local sports teams to other fundraising efforts.
This summer we've sung for the Boston Cannons, the Lowell Spinners, the Runner's World Classic, and Boston's very own Red Sox!

In addition to singing for the Runner's World Classic, VOH had several members who participated in the event and ran on our behalf!  Thank you, one and all.

The Sixth Annual Barbara Byrd Memorial Golf Classic was a fun day on our new course!  Thanks so much to all those who volunteered, and all our players as well.

Our Amazing Sports Chair

Like many theatrical organizations, VOH slows down a bit in the summer.  A lot of our members go on vacation, or do a summer show with another company, or just catch up on lost sleep.

One particular group, however, goes into overdrive; our sports committee. Led by the cheerful dedication of Chrissy Cerretani,  this group is responsible forplanning and organization of our Tennis and Golf tournaments. Chrissy has been a member of Voices of Hope since our 2015 fall gala. She says she knew she wanted to be a part of the group from the moment she walked into her first rehearsal. "The positive and inspirational energy was spectacularly welcoming and overwhelming!"

Chrissy didn't waste any time finding ways to help. Our tennis tournament
was her idea, brought about by her experience with event planning and professional tennis, as well as her love of the sport. When the first annual Volley of Hope was such a success, the VOH Board eagerly asked her to take charge of the Golf Tournament as well. We're grateful she said yes, as this year's golf tournament yielded the highest participation and raised the most funds so far!

Our members who bring their individual skills and find a way to use them to promote our cause are truly a blessing to VOH.  Even better is when they share their own warm hearts with us.  Chrissy (and her daughter Violet) do both.  When asked what one thing she would say about VOH, her response--like herself--was beatifully enthusiastic.

"Be a part of it!!! The inspirational energy is infectious, and everything in your life will be better once you experience [it] for yourself."

Thank you, Chrissy, for being part of it.
Raise Your Voice With Ours!
Have you or a loved one been impacted by cancer? Want to sing along side us? Want to organize a fundraiser for us? Want to ask us to come sing at your fundraiser? Let us know!  We believe that each new voice brings us closer to the cure.
We appreciate your continued support as we aim to increase our fundraising goal every year.  Since 2009, VOH has donated over $387,000 to cancer research, $252,000 specifically to the Termeer Center for Targeted Therapies at the MGH Cancer Center.  We couldn't do it without you!
