Program Topic:
A Day with Simone Joyaux

Morning Session:  9:30am - 11:00am (AFP Members-Only Benefit)

"Making the Move to Top Management"

Are those people listening to you? You know who I mean: senior management, the CEO, and the board. Are those decision-makers applying fundraising expertise? Like how to set charitable giving goals - instead of just handing you the figure to raise. Distinguishing between personal opinion and the body of knowledge. Do you effectively use your power and make your voice heard?  Let's talk - Together we can figure out how to make the fundraising voice heard everywhere it needs to be heard.

Luncheon Meeting:  11:30am - 1:00pm

"Getting the Board Involved in Fund Development"

It's not negotiable: Each individual board member must participate in fundraising. That includes giving a personal financial gift and taking on fundraising tasks - every year. Is this happening in your organization? Could this be happening better at your agency? And why does board member participation matter anyway? Bring a few board members and let's talk turkey.

Afternoon Session:  1:30pm - 3:30pm (AFP Member's Only Benefit)

"Asking for the Gift Face-to-Face"

Maybe this sounds scary. But really, you can do it. In fact, your organization has to do this. Why? Because personal face-to-face solicitation - meeting with someone you know who knows you - is the best way to raise money. You find the right people, people who care. You tell stories, stories that matter. You figure out the right gift to ask for and the right person to do the asking. And then you do it - to support annual operations as well as special projects and capital programs. By the way, who does this? You, the fundraising staff. And, you, the board members. So come along and learn how.

This year, we want to make certain that the AFP Fort Worth Metro chapter reaches its 2015 campaign goal quickly!  Once you have determined your commitment level, please visit the Be the Cause website at www.AFPFoundation.org/bethecause to make your gift or pledge.  The AFP Fort Worth Metro 2015 goal is $1,875, with 25% chapter participation.  Click here for answers to many frequently asked questions about the campaign.

As we say in our day jobs, a gift of any amount does help. You can give a one-time gift or sign up for monthly giving and be a part of the AFP Alpha Society.  Your support to the Be the Cause Campaign helps our chapter in numerous ways.  Training for our chapter leaders at the Annual Leadership Academy and scholarships to the AFP International Conference are just two of the many benefits we receive.
