July Chapter Meeting & Luncheon
 Monday July 14 , 2014 | 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Omni Fort Worth Hotel
1300 Houston Street

Presented By:
Rachel Muir, CFRE
When she was just 26 years old, Rachel Muir launched Girlstart, a non-profit organization to empower girls in math, science, engineering and technology in the living room of her apartment with $500 and a credit card.  Several years later she had raised over 10 million dollars and was featured on Oprah, CNN, and the Today show.  Her career spans includes leading an online fundraising consulting practice at Convio/Blackbaud and managing major gift portfolios for some of the country's largest and most successful nonprofit brands.  Rachel serves as Vice President of Training at Pursuant, where she leads classroom and custom training to transform people into confident, successful fundraisers.

Program:
The Economic Gold Mine of Donor Loyalty
Retaining donors is where fundraising profit is made, however most organizations lose two out of three donors after the first gift.  In a recent study 69% of nonprofits said they do not or don't know if they have a strategy for maintaining donor loyalty.  Why are we losing so many donors?  What can we do to prevent it?  What do donors want?  How can we best maximize our fundraising efforts?  Discover trends in philanthropy that can drastically impact your fundraising performance.  We'll explore why donors stop giving, how to measure donor retention and how to apply a donor centered cultivation plan to a calendar.  You'll learn how to make the donor the hero of your story and inspiring stewardship examples that can help you guarantee a long term future with your donors.
Lyn Downing, CFRE

2014 Be The Cause Campaign
On behalf of the AFP Fort Worth Metro Board of Directors, we ask you to join us in launching the 2014 Be the Cause Campaign (formerly Every Member Campaign).  All Members of the Board have given a gift or pledge and we are asking you to do the same.

This year, we want to make certain that the AFP Fort Worth Metro chapter reaches its 2014 campaign goal quickly.  Great news.... AFP International has launched a new donation site and giving is now easier than ever!

Once you have determined your commitment level, please visit the Be the Cause website at www.AFPFoundation.org/bethecause to make your gift or pledge.  The AFP Fort Worth Metro 2014 goal is $1,800.

As we say in our day jobs, a gift of any amount does help. You can give a one-time gift or sign up for monthly giving and be a part of the AFP Alpha Society.  Your support to the Be the Cause Campaign helps our chapter in numerous ways.  Training for our chapter leaders at the Annual Leadership Academy and scholarships to the AFP International Conference are just two of the many benefits we receive.

Please feel free to contact Lyn Downing if you have any questions regarding the 2014 Be the Cause Campaign at [email protected] or 817-343-1816.

We appreciate all you do for the AFP Fort Worth Metro and for our community.

Sincerely,

Angie Gallaway

Secretary
