The Fall Creek Falls 2016 events are approaching including our 5K & 10K road runs on Saturday, August 20th and Tri Fall Creek Falls Olympic and new Calfkiller Sprint Triathlons Sunday, August 21st. Fall Creek Falls State Park is our gracious host again this year. Registration for runs and triathlon are still open with quick links on calendar to left.

Note - We are planing that LIVE RESULTS will be available with the cell service availability. Verizon towers make cell service much better but we hear ATT folks are still without service. Result displays and computer kiosks will be available each day under the large white registration / food tent. Here are links to receive Live Results directly to you or your friends & family via text / e-mail Runs - Triathlon - register for notifications at the links at no charge. Triathlon splits will show as we add them to our system throughout the race on Sunday.

5K & 10K Run - Friday evening packet pick-up from 4:30 - 6 PM. This is not-mandatory but available should you want to get your shirt and other packet items early. We will be using the returnable shoe tag timing to capture your start and finish time. Tags attach to shoe laces with twist ties provided and returned after your finish. Runs start with 10K at 8 AM & 8:03 AM for 5K. Please follows same route as outlined down the main park road, along the paved bike path & park roads, back to Taft Village area finish. Please stay on the same side of park roads as safety cones marking course to help vehicles stay away from runners.
Awards are set for 9:30 AM. Please enjoy fruit, snacks and drinks and make sure you stay for door prize drawings - Rudy Project gift certificates, 1 heart rate monitor watch, free Rock'in Santa Half Marathon, Warrior 10 Miler / 5K & FCF 50K/ Half Marathon entries for 2017 and more. Aid stations approx. each mile with water and Base Performance.   10K Route link -   5K Route link

Triathlons - See schedule below for packet pick-up times. Race overview and question / answer session Saturday at 5:30 PM. Water temperature will be posted on our web site by Wednesday evening 8/17 but official USAT reading will be taken by USAT Officials Sunday morning and ruling announced ASAP. We expect temperature to be above the 78 degree level, so most likely no wet suits. 2016 adds a new CALFKILLER SPRINT TRIATHLON to the traditional Tri Fall Creek Falls Olympic distance event.

Awards will be 3 deep for both triathlon age groupers (5 deep for groups with over 20) and accompanied by custom awards certificates. Olympic finishers will receive a custom finishers medal.

Course details: Swim - 1.5K (map link)  or .5K (map link)  with buoys each 100 meters; we'll use our large triangular buoys at turns, plenty of vessel support & in water wave starts.Sprint wave starts at 7:30 & Olympic 7:40. Please wear cap provided. We will have a shoe area for footwear designated 1-99, 100-199.....this is optional - test pavement prior to race & decide for yourself.

Bike - 40K (map link)  or 22K (map link)  out and back course with water bottle exchange at Olympic turn-around; basically one climb out & one back; otherwise, pretty "car-free" & fast.
Return same route and don't forget narrow finish. Dismount bike before BIKE DISMOUNT signs & please do not question the 2-minute penalty for passing the bike dismount signs - Safety is the number 1 concern & heck, you've got the whole run to make time!

Runs - "lollie pop" shaped run for the 10K (map link) & out & back for 5K (map link)  with aid each mile using park roads & paved, shaded bike path through the woods. We'll have each mile marked. We are very fortunate the Fall Creek Falls run courses follow shaded, paved bike path and park roads. Temperatures are forecast to be at a high of 83 degrees - DRINK EARLY & OFTEN! Please follow course markings closely at the start & finish of the runs - out &back courses wind through Taft Village area with paths through woods and park roads starting at 3/4 mile. Also please stay on park road side marked with cones (as noted earlier in 10K description) to help separate runners & vehicles. Aid stations will be approx. each mile. Finish chute begins near transition exit and follows along transition approximately 100 yards to large arch.

Door Prizes - We will have well over $1000 in door prize drawings during our triathlon awards ceremonies. Gift certificates from Rudy Project, three HR monitor watches and an XTERRA Speedsuit highlight the prizes being given away. Atomic Man Half & Atomic Tri / Du  & new 2017 Toughman TN entries will also be given away.

Relays exchange timing chip at bike rack. No riding bikes in transition.   Transition Map
