Doctor's Tip for the week

Keeping Kids Safe in Sports

Picking the right team, checking field conditions, and these other steps can help prevent injuries.

Get a Preseason Checkup: Your child's pediatrician will make sure they don't have any injuries or health issues that might be risky on the field or court. Make an appointment about 6 weeks before her first team practice so you'll have time to take care of any problems the doctor finds.

Parenting Tip for the week

How to Handle Parents Who Brag About Their Kids

Their children are math geniuses, gymnastic stars -- and they started reading at 3.

"My kid must be some sort of math genius!" a mother of a preschooler said to Hilarie Atkisson as she watched her 4-year-old twin daughters and 2-year-old son on the playground after school.

News From LTA

Hello Families,

This week we are learning about music. Music can be lots of fun, it keeps us moving and can sometimes change our mood. Every child has a favorite song to sing and will often sing it continuously in any environment. Musical instruments are fun to learn about as well. Children can learn about instrument families like strings, percussion, woodwinds, and brass. They can also learn about tone, tempo, notes, rhythm, and more. It should be a fun and noisy week!

Have a wonderful week!
