The HEART of Hosanna - Volunteers!

Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
~2Corinthians 9.7

Dear Friends,
A wise person once said, "There's nothing more powerful than the heart of a volunteer". The Online Dictionary describes a volunteer this way - a person who performs a service willingly and without pay; a person whose actions are not founded on any legal obligation so to act.

It's so easy to get into the mindset that serving God is a chore, it's our job, our duty -- we give valuable consideration to our giving. God loves a cheerful giver. God loves a volunteer. When I think of that verse, the first thing that comes to my mind is monetary giving, but God wants us to cheerfully volunteer every good thing God has so mercifully allowed us to have -- things we often take for granted -- our time, our energy, our abilities, our talents, our homes, our cars, our families -- all that we have - all that God has cheerfully given to us!

Volunteers are at the very heart of Hosanna. You are what makes Hosanna tick!!   It takes volunteers to:
  • Create an atmosphere of hospitality on Sunday mornings- join a Hospitality Team today- email Jackie
    NOW
  • Clean up the Coliseum at the MN State Fair - FUN family-serve project plus you get a ticket to the State Fair (August 24- September 5)- click here to volunteer NOW

  • Bake desserts at home for Wednesday night meals
  • Lead our Confirmation youth on Wednesday nights- click here to volunteer NOW
  • Teach our children about the love of Jesus on Wednesday nights- click here to volunteer NOW
Just do it! Make a point to volunteer TODAY- it's just a click away!  By doing this you not only bless the Lord- but those you are serving as well.

From my heart to yours- THANK YOU for the many ways that YOU make Hosanna a place of LIVING and LOVING and SERVING- so that all may know Jesus!!

Withrow Ballroom & Event Center

There will be bounce houses, face painting, outdoor lawn games, photo booth, silent auction and MORE!!

All proceeds will directly benefit a child in need.
Please contact Melissa at 651-245-8384  or  [email protected] with any silent auction donations.
Monetary donations can be made payable to
Christopher Ryan Foundation
and mailed to 10037 John Trial, Chisago City MN 55013.

Receiving his diagnosis was life changing for our entire family. As a family we knew we wanted to help others who wore similar shoes as ours. This is where the nonprofit comes in! Raising a child with extraordinary needs is extremely rewarding but also can be draining in many aspects, one of those being financially. As we quickly learned there were so many costly items needed for Christopher to thrive as well as services that medical insurance did not cover. Floor mats, adapted toys, therapy items, and intensive therapy to name a few.  Our goal is to help families alleviate some of the financial stress and make a difference in their child's life.

Healing the Heart of Demoncracy-
The Courage to Create a Politics Worthy of the Human Spirit
by Parker Palmer

The author looks with realism and hope at how to deal with our political tensions for the sake of the common good.

Palmer writes:
For those of use who want to see democracy survive and thrive - and we are legion-the heart is where everything begins: that grounded place in each of us where we can overcome fear, rediscover that we are members of one another, and embrace the conflicts that threaten democracy as openings to new life for us and for our nation.

Read the book, then come for the discussions at 7pm on Tuesdays:
  • Sep 20 - prelude + ch 1,2
  • Oct 4 - ch 3,4
  • Oct 18 - ch 5,6
  • Nov 1 - ch 7,8
