What Indiana IT Professionals should know
Big Data Education in Indy 
Many businesses are sitting on years of data that they hope will allow them to make better decisions-if analyzed. The tools to handle such high volumes of data are finally here! As a result, Data Scientists and Business Analytics experts are in high demand, and the need for these roles is accelerating.

As our society becomes more technologically advanced, having employees with experience and knowledge in Big Data becomes more important to businesses. Many of Indiana's top universities are creating new programs and encouraging their students to become proficient in Data Science and Business Analytics.
 
Check out these programs:
Indiana University started the Data Science Masters Program, through the School of Informatics, in January 2015. IU also offers a MBA Program for Business Analytics, through the Kelley School of Business, and a   Ph.D. Data Science Minor Program, through the School of Informatics. For individuals who cannot make it to the Bloomington campus, IU's School of Informatics provides an opportunity to obtain an Online Certificate in Data Science for Graduate students and IU's Kelley School of Business provides an Online Master of Science in Business Analytics Program.

Purdue University offers an MS for Business Analytics Program through the Krannert School of Management.

IUPUI offers a MS in Technology - Applied Data Management Program through the Computer Information Technology department; and Mathematics: Applied Statistics Masters Program through the Department of Mathematical Sciences.

University of Evansville is presenting its first semester of the Statistics & Data Science Masters Program in the fall of 2016.

University of Notre Dame offers a MS in Business Analytics Program (MSBA) through the Mendoza College of Business.

Saint Mary's College offers an On-Campus & Online MS in Data Science Program through the Department of Mathematics.

BI Developer
Are you a goal-driven data modeler? If so, this job opportunity is for you! As a BI Developer you will direct the effort of the planning, analysis, design, implementation, deployment and maintenance of reporting assets for the Big Data Analytics team. This role encompasses service design, management of technical architecture, establishment of development standards/methodologies and change management oversight.
