Operation First Step FastTrac    

A 7 week business planning curriculum that will help you identify if your business idea is feasible and give you the tools you need to build a successful program.  This course is specifically targeted to low-to-moderate income individuals.

Financing Your Small Business

Do you need a loan to start and grow your small business?  Unable to get a traditional loan?  Attend this informational session to learn about the various microloan products available to small businesses in Kansas City.  You'll also learn about the importance of personal credit to your business and how to build credit. 

Microloans are loans ranging from $500 - $50,000 intended for clients who are not yet bankable.

KC Women's Golf Clinic    

Golfers of all skill levels, including someone who has never picked up the club, are welcome and encouraged to attend.  Attendees will be grouped with others of the same skill level so the learning experience is comfortable and fun for everyone.  Each group will have their own LPGA or PGA female teaching professional for the entire day!  The 2015 KC Women's Golf Clinic was thoroughly enjoyed and was the first time this unique experience had been offered in Kansas City.  Our Mission is to promote women's health and wellness through the game of golf and encourage new females to participate in the game.  The proceeds from the event will go to support the Women's Business Center and WIN for KC.

FastTrac New Venture for Women   

 

You have an innovative idea for a business but you're unsure how and where to start.  FastTrac New Venture will help you define and evaluate your business concept while developing a business plan.  Participants will receive research, in-class activities, guest speakers, peer-to-peer interaction and facilitated discussion.

WE-Lend Microloan Funds Available to Women-Led Businesses 

 

Are you looking for a loan between $2,500 - $25,000 for your business?  The WBC's WE-Lend microloan fund provides small loans to women-led businesses who are struggling to receive a traditional loan for their business.  These loans are ideal for women who may have low credit scores, a small amount of collateral or who are just starting out in business.

MO IDEA Fund Deadline August 24 

 

The Missouri Technology Corporation is accepting applications for its IDEA commercialization funds through August 24.  The funds are designed to help science and technology firms that are translating discoveries into new products and services.  The funds are designed as co-investment programs and the applicant must have already lined up matching private investment money.

25 Under 25 Nominations Open 
 
Nominations for the 2017 25 Under 25 Awards are now open.  Hosted by Thinking Bigger Business Media, the 25 Under 25 Awards recognize small businesses in the Kansas City metro for their significant role in the economy.  Nominees must employ fewer than 25 full time employees (or full-time equivalent), operate a for-profit business for three years or more and be located in the Kansas City metro.  Nominations will be accepted through September 30.  Nominate outstanding small businesses (or your small business) today!
