Quick Overview
What's coming up and going on at Jeepers

Well July certainly got away from me, but here's what is going on in the months ahead.  Jeepers will be offering several workshops including a bookstore, quilt shop (yep, again), and a Steampunk inspired top hat that will provide many alternate options if you're not into Steam.  View all upcoming classes and workshops here.

NOTE:  Jeepers will be closed August 12th through August 15th for another family wedding.

Be sure to read on to learn about a wonderful miniature presidential gift (I promise, nothing to do with politics today).

Bookstore Workshop
Summertime is reading time, and....

We are creating a 1:12 scale miniature bookstore that you can fill with all of your favorite titles and a whole lot more!  In this two-day workshop, we will build the store from a kit, then create a series of simple furnishings to house books, magazines, and newspapers as well as a "granite" topped checkout counter.  The cost of the workshop includes the materials to make (and decorate) the store, wall-mounted magazine rack filled with magazines, a newspaper rack with newspapers, a sandwich style sign, and the counter, all of which we will build during the workshop.  Also included in the workshop are two ready-made bookcases and materials to make enough books to fill them.  Since students may want to arrange their own bookstores a little differently, we will also have a variety of bookcase options (both readymade and kits) for an additional cost.  Click here for more information and to register online.  Of course, you can just drop in or call (812-597-4346) to register.

Every year I say I'm not going to do it again, but every year I cannot resist the requests of at least one or two people who didn't get a chance to join us at any of the past offerings of the Quilt Shop workshop.

A Top Hat for What?
Dancing, Alice, or Steampunk . . .

This next workshop might seem a little out of left field, but I have just been having so much fun designing it that I simply must share the experience.  In this workshop, we will create a top hat that will leave you open to so many possibilities.  My idea is Steampunk inspired, but as I look at it and make alterations I see so much more (ballroom dancing, wedding scene, magic tricks, Wonderland, etc.).  I haven't completed mine and still have a few finishing touches to add to both the interior and exterior, but you'll get the picture.  I can't seem to limit myself to what I want to include!   In the workshop, we will make this delightful hat, add lighting, and interior finishing.  In my case, I'm using brick for the walls and a simple wood floor, but I suspect a few of you will consider other options.  The actual cost for the class is still to be determined, but I've set a date for it and thought I'd give you a head's up just in case you would like to participate and need to reserve the dates of October 28 and 29, 2016.

Earl Carter's General Store
An architectural miniature

Tom and I are working together in hopes that he will be a guest instructor at Jeepers in the near future.
