A note from our CEO, John Fowler
Happy Birthday, PSHH! We celebrate our 46 th Birthday this month, as the organization incorporated in August of 1970. It's been an exciting year, though fall and winter still have plenty more in store for us.

Stay tuned for details about upcoming program news and development updates, in particular the ground breaking of our newest development in the City of Goleta, Village at Los Carneros. This property will provide 70 new affordable rental units, including a youth education center, laundry facilities and much more.

I look forward to the start of construction and meeting many of you during the upcoming ground breaking ceremony in October. Until then, I hope you'll take a moment to read about other great partnerships we have in the works as we head into the final months of the year.

Collaboration Brings Deferred Loans to First-Time, Lompoc Homebuyers

We're excited to partner with the City of Lompoc and the Housing Trust Fund of Santa Barbara County to offer 30-year deferred payment loans up to $50,000 to qualified first-time homebuyers in purchasing an entry-level home in Lompoc.

Hopeful homebuyers will be learning about the pilot City of Lompoc Homebuyer Assistance Program at an introductory workshop from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30 in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 100 Civic Center Plaza. We'll go over the program, homebuyer qualifications, eligible homes, how to apply for the deferred payment loan and contact information for participating first mortgage lenders.

"This is an amazing opportunity for low-income households to get a leg up as they search for a great place to raise families," said John Fowler, Peoples' Self-Help Housing President and CEO. "We're proud to team up with the City of Lompoc and the Housing Trust Fund of Santa Barbara County to bring this program to hard working families in our community."

Ramping Up Her Life
We'd like to introduce you to Dayaned, a resident of our Rolling Hills Apartments in Templeton who received an amazing gift this year: a wheelchair ramp.

Previously having no access to her back patio, Dayaned was only able to admire it from afar. Dayaned has been wheelchair bound for a couple of years and missed being able to do simple things, such as growing a garden and tending to flowers.

Wait... How Long? PSHH and TDG Anniversaries!
Thanks for the years of dedicated service and commitment to the missions of PSHH and The Duncan Group, keeping us going strong!
