Silent Meditation Summer Sundays 9:30 am
The sanctuary will be open for silent meditation during the summer from 
9:30-10 am.   Settle in for silence in a sacred space with kindred spirits. All are welcome. 



Child care for children up to ten years old is available during Worship services.

In this multi-generational service, we celebrate all that we bring to make our congregation a spiritual home and explore what it means to belong to a faith community in a post-9/11 world. Please bring a small portion of water from your Summer adventures to participate

As Unitarian Universalists, we believe that all human lives are precious, so why do we declare #BlackLivesMatter? We look at the movement for Black Lives and where Unitarian Universalists belong in the civil rights struggle of our time.

Seeking RE teachers for 2016-2017
Please contact the RE office to talk about teaching 1-2 Sundays per month starting on September 25, 2016!  It is an exciting, rewarding way to live out our principles and values.  We need one more teacher for 2/3rd grade and one more YRUU advisor.  We are also looking for two more facilitators for 7/8th grade Our Whole Lives sexuality education, starting in January 2017.  Write to [email protected] or call  203-288-1807, Ext. 203  for more information.

ADULT RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

Announcing ContinUUM - 
An open group for writers of all stages.
The group will meet on the fourth Wednesday  of each month from 7-8:30 pm in the library to share, listen and discuss original works of poetry and prose inspired by and in response to the 2016-2017 USNH monthly worship themes.  
The group will be facilitated by Steve Evans and Jesse Greist.

We would like to gauge interest in this group, so please email Jesse Greist at [email protected] to indicate interest, ask questions, etc.

Limited Book Cart 
 August 28, after Services
Several books will be available for sale at the table next to the Stop and Shop/ShopRite card sales: Guns Don't Kill People, People Kill People (for book discussions this fall); Hearing Voices, Living Fully (Claire Bien's new memoir); and Aging as a Spiritual Practice (for Small Group Ministry this fall).
Books are available at an optional discount of up to 20% and all proceeds support the USNH operating budget.

By-laws Changes in the Works - Be Informed

The USNH By-laws are being revised to comply with both current practices and our Policy Governance structure.  
The By-law Committee has information about the changes. You may find the proposed changes on the USNH website -  USNH.org. In preparing for the fall congregational meeting vote on the revisions, we have a series of town-hall style meetings to discuss the proposed changes. Please plan to attend.

Hope's Nest - September 18, 4-6 pm -  Therapist Lisa Greenleaf will speak on Internal Family Systems. The theory is that each part of our psyche works with each other for our betterment. We all have parts like the Inner Critic, the Abandoned Child, the Pleaser, the Exiled, and the Loving Caretaker.  Every part has a positive intent for you,
no matter how problematic its behavior might be. More will be explained and your
questions answered.

Folksinger's Group - will not meet in August.

Insight Meditation Program with Beth Roth, APRN
Breathing meditation, walking meditation, instructor talk and  discussion.  Suggested donation: USNH members $12, non-members $20. Donations of any amount are gratefully accepted.Tuesdays 7-9 pm, Room 209.

Sunday Morning Team
USNH Sunday Morning Coffee and Snack Sign-up

We are trying out a new method  for Sunday coffee and snack sign-up.  Please  click here  for the Sign-up Genius link.
If you sign-up to make coffee:
1. We recommend showing up around 10:00 am.
2. No need to worry about milk - other people are assigned to                                                   bring that on Sundays.
3. There is a red book in the kitchen on top of the microwave that has instructions for how to make the coffee. If you have not done it before, and want some help, please contact Mary Donohue ([email protected]) and a person from the Sunday Morning Team will arrange for someone to be there to help you learn how to do it.
