I want to let you know of an event that occurred today in a neighboring community. This afternoon we learned there was a disturbance at Temple Israel in Westport during a luncheon for Friends of the Israel Defense Forces. According to local news outlets the two men responsible are now in police custody. Additionally, in a statement by Temple Israel president, Steven Phillips, "at no time was any one in physical danger."  

We have been in touch with the Redding Police Department and will continue to be in communication with them. As a precaution, over the next few days the Redding Police will have a greater presence in and around TBC.

Incidents like these are troubling; when and if there's further information I will reach out to you.
