Has your map listing "Gone to the Dogs?"
Case study

Creature Quarters is a Dog Day Care in Surry, Maine. For business owner Carol Ann Cutler, moving to a great new facility in a new location caused her map listing to "Go to the Dogs".  Carol Ann realized something was amiss at her new location when long time customers told her, "We can't find you on our GPS." or "My map says you are closed."

Jim LeClair of Smart DataMap Services performed a "DataMap Discovery" for Creature Quarters, which identified the reasons were occurring in the representation of Creature Quarters on the internet maps. Jim fixed the problems and now Creature Quarters is correct on all the maps.

International Maritime Film Festival
Tickets are on sale for the International Maritime Film Festival

Tickets are now on sale for the inaugural International Maritime Film Festival, a juried contest of documentary films celebrating the heritage, spirit of adventure, and ingenuity of boats and waterborne pursuits. It is the premier event for maritime-themed filmmaking. Festival weekend takes place  Friday, September 30 through Sunday, October 2, 2016 , in Bucksport, Maine.

Festival attendees will enjoy a variety of short and feature-length documentary films, as well as archival maritime-themed footage from Northeast Historic Film's collection. There will also be a non-juried Spotlight Series showcasing two spectacular films: The Restorer's Journey, and Vanishing Sail. The Restorer's Journey tells the story of Jonathan Wilson, who founded WoodenBoat magazine in Brooksville, Maine, in 1974 in an off-the-grid cabin; Vanishing Sail, tells the story of the revival of traditional wooden sloops on the Caribbean island of Carriacou. The full festival program will be announced in early September.

Screenings will take place in the historic Alamo Theatre in downtown Bucksport. Tickets are $50 per person, and include all screenings during festival weekend, as well as an opening reception  on Friday  night and coffee and pastries  on Saturday  and  Sunday  mornings. The Alamo Theatre is a small, intimate, state-of the art venue; tickets are limited and early purchase is recommended.

The International Maritime Film Festival is a joint venture between Northeast Historic Film and WoodenBoat Publications, Inc. In the months after the awards event, a compilation of winners will be offered to venues worldwide.
