Dear People of St. George's,

I am pleased to announce to you that beginning September 11 we will have a fully professional nursery care program for Sunday mornings!  I want to thank Elise for organizing our parent collective nursery care over the past several years and I want to thank all the parents who participated in it!  They have done tremendous work!

Going forward, we are going to provide professional nursery care at the 10am service for ages 0-4.  We will be announcing the hiring of four persons in the weeks to come, and they will work every other weekend in teams of two.  They will all have child care experience, all of their state and federal clearances, and will have completed the church's "Safeguarding All God's Children" training program.  I am super excited that we are able to do this and believe it will only continue to help grow our ministry to young families.  Stay tuned to be introduced to our new staff members and greet them warmly when you meet them!

God bless you!

Faithfully,
Fr. Ryan+

Stewardship Campaign for 2017

The Vestry Stewardship Committee has decided to move up the timing of the Stewardship Campaign for 2017.  This year's campaign will begin on September 18 and end with Commitment Sunday on October 16.  This will not affect the timing of your actual contributions but only the planning schedule for the 2017 parish budget.  The reasoning behind the change is to allow the Vestry and the Financial Committee adequate time for budget analysis and preparation before the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season and the January 2017 Parish Annual Meeting.  Thank you for your understanding.

Senior Choir season is about to begin again!  All interested singers in the congregation and invited to join the choir for the coming year, or even a portion of the year.  First rehearsal is on Thursday, Sept. 8 at 7:30pm up in the choir room, and the first sung service will be Sunday, Sept. 11, call time at 9:00am.

All voices are welcome, and we could especially use sopranos, as well as tenors and basses.  We are a congenial group, have fun, and enjoy blending our voices together in song.  Repertoire comes from the 16th c. up to the present, so there is something for everyone. An Evensong with Good Shepherd Episcopal is planned for Nov. 6, All Saint's Day.  Come out and give it a try!

Lonely lady guinea pig seeks a companion

Are you the owner of a single guinea pig? Are you aware that they are sociable creatures, and are happiest with companions? After 14 years as guinea pig owners, we have decided to end our career, and are looking for a home with a companion for Chestnut , a 2 year old female. She is healthy and happy, albeit recently bereaved. We have a guinea pig run and an outdoor cage that we would also like to find a free home for as well. Contact Sarah Farnsworth if interested or have any questions.
