MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
The second half of the 2016 race season is in full swing now!  We had several events during the month of August for the team.  First up was nearly a dozen lady TTTers taking on the Lake Logan Multisport Festival, complete with PRs and podiums.  Next was the third race in our TTT Race Series, the High Point Sprint Triathlon.  We had an outstanding turnout this year with 34 TTT members competing in the race, and 10 members getting awards!  And finally, several of our members represented us in the Lake Norman State Park Triathlon Tri Club Championship.  Great job to all of you who participated in those races!

This month continues with a few more significant events for the team.  The Triathlon at Ramseur Lake is coming up in mid-August and is a great Olympic distance race that is within easy driving distance from Greensboro.  Keep an eye on the Facebook group for possible training opportunities, like course pre-rides and pre-runs.  Just after that is our last semi-official destination race of the year, Augusta 70.3!  There will be a large contingent of TTTers making the trip down for that.  Keep an eye on the Facebook group for opportunities to meet up with other TTT members that will be in Augusta for the race.  Best of luck to all of our members participating in these events!

And finally, right at the start of October will be the final race in the TTT Race Series, the North Carolina State Triathlon Championship.  This will be the last opportunity to pick up points for the TTT Race Series this year, so come out and race or volunteer, and bring along your TTT kit or shirt to earn some bonus points.  Also keep an eye out for opportunities to pre-ride or pre-run the course during August with the team.

Big news from our bike shop sponsor Recycles!  They've recently switched over to Litespeed bikes, and have some great deals on new bikes, including full carbon setups starting as low as $1400!  Swing by the shop and check out what they have to offer.  Or if you're in need of a tune-up before your end of the year races, bring it by for a service.  B e sure to bring along  your TTT membership card to take advantage of discounts on gear and preferred maintenance service!
See below for awesome special deals going on right now!

This month's AOM is Brian DeYoung ! As  many of you may know, Brian has recently taken the reigns of the TTT  as President. Brian has started off strong,  and we look forward to what the future of TTT will bring. Brian started participating in Triathlon in 2015, and has already made great strides in the sport.  He  recently completed his fifth race of the year in the Growler Gallop 10k, where he ran a personal record. To add to this accomplishment, he placed 3rd in his AG when he raced in the Lake Brandt Triathlon back in June. Next on Brian's list is his first Olympic distance triathlon at Lake Ramseur. Brian has one daughter with his wife, Sarah.
Great job and congratulations to Brian.

Saturday, September 10
The North Carolina Sprint Triathlon Championship counts for double points in the TTT Race Series and can significantly elevate your rank in the standings. Even if you haven't participated in many other triathlon or are not (yet) a TTT member, this is a great race to be a part of.

The TTT will host a brick training session on the race course Saturday, September 10 at 2pm. We'll meet in the parking lot just before entering the Lake Townsend Marina and ride our bikes on the 18 mile bike course before practicing our transition and heading out for a 5k run along the out and back run course.

Information about the race course can be found here. This is planned as a no drop event so people of all levels are welcome to participate. Depending on turnout, we may break up into pace groups, but the rule is that no one will be dropped. Cue sheets and food/snacks/water will be provided from the parking lot.

Lead by IRONMAN Certified and USAT Certified coach, Simon Cloutier, this event will also include a quick review of race pacing and fueling specific to this race. Bring a friend and join the TTT for this great opportunity to receive coaching advice and get a great workout while meeting more local triathletes.

Let's represent in Augusta, if you have no plans, feel free to come down and cheer us on!

Monday Recovery Runs:
There are now two Monday recovery runs, one starting at 6 PM from the Payless Shoes off Battleground, and one at 6pm from the Ragsdale YMCA parking lot near Jamestown.  Both of these are paced to be slow and are about 3 miles long.  Anyone of any speed or ability is welcome to show up and run for as long or as little as you'd like, and socialize after the run is over.

As with all workouts and events, consult the TTT Facebook page for any last minute changes.
