7 All NEW Routes
8, 18, 23, 36, 48, 63 and 75 miles
Walk, Run or Race!
That headline is figurative - not literal.

When talking with people about their riding pace, I use those 3 words to describe how hard people are working  when they ride.

Entry level and beginning cyclists fare best when they ride at WALK pace. Make sure you are changing gears as the terrain and wind change so that you are at a moderate pace. You should be able to talk, whistle or sing as you ride without loosing your breath. You should be able to breathe through your nose and should not be able to hear your own breathing.

Intermediate cyclists and those riding less than 2 hours can RUN,which means they ride more aggressively without getting in trouble. Cyclists can ride at RUN pace as long as they have trained properly for riding that pace (different eating and hydration program). This pace is one that features labored breathing that you and your riding buddies can hear. Talking/whistling/singing requires regular breaks to catch your breath

RACE pace is riding at your maximum potential all the time. If you can do this, skip the rally and get a USA Cycling license and start racing.

So, how are you going to ride today? Walk, run or race? For best results, mix them up. Not sure how to do that? Just send me an email and I'll help you figure it out.
Greenville, TX - September 17

The old routes, with the Hills of Leonard and that LONG stretch into the wind to get to the finish are GONE! Yippee! Tour organizers have worked hard to design 7 NEW routes that travel south and travel north to the finish. The longest routes feature some miles across Lake Tawakoni.
