In this time of lovely cool mornings and great crashing thunderstorms at night, we continue to experiment with new ways to learn and have fun.
The Opera House tour is described in an article below.
Six members and four guests came to our
coffee hour at Kakawa
Chocolate House, drank chocolate elixirs, ate ice cream and discovered connections such as having the same elementary school teachers in New York City.
Thank you to our members who volunteered at the DeVargas Women's Health Fair where we enjoyed talking to many potential new members.
At our August meeting, TTN member and financial advisor Ann Shubert described five cognitive processes that can get in the way of effective financial decision making. She presented the material with a great sense of humor so it was a pleasure to learn how to work around mental roadblocks.
Karen Lievense was, of course, a wonderful ambassador for the second Taos trip and, like a mini-stay-cation, the full day outside of Santa Fe was a good and informative adventure. Whenever you forget that it's fun to spend time with a bunch of girls (or women), TTN comes to the rescue.
In addition to new social events and venues, we're presenting the Women in Transition workshop on September 24. If you are exploring new possibilities, rethinking your life and/or work, contemplating changes in your lifestyle or want to expand your networks, this informative workshop will provide you a guiding framework to understand the process of transition. To register, please see details to your right
To accommodate speaker availability, we have changed our September monthly meeting program to
Elections 2016 - What Can We Expect? and have rescheduled
The Transition Network; A National organization With a Local Chapter-What's In It For Me? for our October meeting.

THE SANTA FE OPERA UP CLOSE!
On a beautiful August morning, ten TTN members and guests arrived at the Santa Fe Opera ready to experience an Opera Insider/Backstage Tour. Gathering around Jean Palmer's TTN sign, we enjoyed muffins and beverages before being guided into the theater to learn about the history of the SF opera and the experiences of some of the staff. We then embarked on a tour throughout the facility including areas where sets are stored, costumes are created and dressing, makeup and hair styling occurs. At each point, our very knowledgeable guide shared in-depth information and answered our questions. All in the group - whether opera lovers or not - agreed that the tour was extremely informative and most enjoyable. Thank you, Jean, for arranging this for us and for planning a future SF Opera excursion to the opera's Ranch Tour-an extended tour of the grounds. Watch for details about this event during the summer of 2017!
