Fundraising is a fundamental activity of botanic gardens and other museums to which there can be a variety of methods and strategies. If you are looking for ways to strengthen your approach to fundraising for community projects, then join Sharon and Nic who will offer their knowledge and experience on the topic during this 1 hour and 20 minute webinar.

With cautionary tales, case studies, guidance about where to look for funding and how to find partners, along with Q&As to give you personalised advice, this webinar offers a great opportunity to give your fundraising activities a boost.

For the past 15 years, Nic Capp has been working to raise funds to support and empower people from less privileged backgrounds and for the last four and half years he has been leading the fundraising team at the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria.

Sharon Willoughby manages Public Programs at the garden which has included the development of a team dedicated to socially inclusive partnerships.

Horticultural Technician -
 Wilson Botanic Park Berwick


Salary:
Salary starts at $60,283 per annum plus super.

Here's your chance to make your mark in this brand new role.

You will undertake a lead role in developing a standard of horticultural excellence at Wilson Botanic Park Berwick.  With your proven horticultural experience you will be responsible for curating the plant collections, including maintaining accurate updated plant records, horticultural data base management and plant labeling.

You will also play a pivotal role in the development, implementation and usage of Council's asset management system and the integration with horticultural data management.

Your Certificate III in Horticultural combined with a current Light Truck Endorsement licence will see you succeed at the City of Casey.

Curator - Cooktown, Queensland.

Cook Shire Council is currently seeking a self motivated person to manage the planning, operations and continued development of Cook Shire Council's Botanic Gardens.

Key responsibilities shall include, but not limited to:

- Coordinate the daily activites of the botanic gardens staff.

- Maximise all aspects of the Botanic Gardens presentation.

- Provide technical advice and support on botanical matters.

- Contribute to the planning, development and implementation of special projects.

- Achieve optimum plant performance.

- Manage the maintenance of accurate and up to date plant records and inventories.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Curator to join our friendly and dynamic Council.

Longwood Gardens - New Fellows Program

  

Longwood Gardens, whose influence on American horticulture is seen through its vast education curricula, recently launched a new, 13-month Fellows Program 

  

The fully funded cohort-based residency at Longwood allows Fellows to delve into topical issues relevant to public horticulture today such as leadership, board relations and governance, communication skills, change management, innovation, and HR/talent management. 

  

A two-month field placement provides a deeper understanding of these issues, equipping Fellows to lead organizations into a vibrant and sustainable future.
