PhilliesJewish Heritage Night at the Phillies

The Phillies host the Washington Nationals at this ninth annual Jewish Heritage Celebration featuring Jewish entertainment, kosher foods and baseball! $34 per person; transportation on your own. RSVP by August 23. Tickets will be available for pickup in the synagogue office on Friday, August 26. To RSVP or for more information, contact Jonathan Bloom.

 HHDHIGH HOLY DAYS
Preparing Our Hearts & Souls for the High Holy Days
Just as athletes warm up before a game, the Hebrew month of Elul provides a number of opportunities to help us prepare for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Join us for one or both of these classes led by Rabbi Frenkel, as we reflect on the themes, liturgy and lessons of the holidays and ready ourselves spiritually and emotionally for the month ahead.

Inner Judaism
Led by Scott Kushner
This recurring series focuses on rationality, God, creation, destiny, free will, good and evil and faith and ritual, and how these core beliefs can lead to a more meaningful and happy life.

The Ritual Committee is currently exploring possibilities for Shabbat programming in the fall. Please contact Carol Fisher to let us know topics that interest you and if there are any sessions you would consider leading.

CARING COMMUNITY / HEALTH & WELLNESS
Our Caring Community volunteers are here to help congregants in need of support.
Volunteers provide: Transportation, Meals on a short-term basis, Shopping, Telephone reassurance, Friendly visits, Shiva set-up assistance
If you or someone in your family is confined to home because of illness or injury, M'kor Shalom's Caring Community volunteers are here to help. Please contact Jane Bloom or the synagogue office, so our volunteers can respond to your needs.

RELIGIOUS SCHOOL
Registration for 2016-2017
Class assignments are being finalized. Be sure to complete the linked Religious School Tuition Deposit Form and return it to us as soon as possible. If your child has learning or medical issues, this can now be noted on the Confidential Form. Photo release and immunization information are also on this form.
New this year: Religious School tuition is included on the synagogue Membership Forms. For more information, or to pick up any of these forms, contact the Religious School Office at 856-424-4304 or stop by during regular hours. 
 
Summer Mitzvah Project 
Take last year's backpack - or one that your child does not want to use again - wash it and remove all tags with names OR purchase a new backpack. You can either fill it with pencils, crayons, notebook, or just bring in supplies without a backpack to the Religious School office. A special bonus would be to add a juice box or snack bar. As these backpacks come in, they will be taken to elementary school children in the Camden city school district.

Early Childhood Center Registration
Registration is open for the 2016-2017 school year. Program options include half- and full-day programs, extended day, early & late care, and more. For information, contact the ECC Office at 856-424-7339.


Shalom ECC Membership
Membership includes all rights, responsibilities and benefits of full synagogue membership including tickets to High Holy Day Services and the services of the clergy. To participate in this FREE offer, contact the Early Childhood Center Office or the synagogue office.

Join the men of M'kor Shalom for lunch and conversation, this month at Herman's Woodcrest Delicatessen. No RSVP necessary. Pay your own way.

Office Volunteers: Volunteers are needed to assist in the synagogue office on Sunday mornings. Lend your support. Contact Michelle Bross in the synagogue office.

Webcasting Team Volunteers: Help the effort to webcast our services to those who are homebound or cannot come to services in person. No experience needed. Contact Bruce Weinger.

Call for House Committee Members: If you are interested in joining our House Committee which oversees building maintenance and policy regarding use of the facility, please contact Paul Fishbein.

Check out the brand new additions to our extensive collection of Judaic fiction and nonfiction, DVDs, audio books on CDs and children's books - all of which can be borrowed at no cost! Gift Cards Available In The Synagogue Office
ShopRite, Acme, Short Hills Deli, Barnes & Noble, Bed Bath & Beyond, CVS, Panera Bread and Starbucks gift cards are always available in the synagogue office during regular office hours. CVS gift cards may be used for prescriptions as well as other items.  Please note: We no longer offer online ordering of gift cards.

Recycle Your Empty Ink Jet and Laser Printer Cartridges! Old cell phones, too!
We have collection bins in both the main office and the school office. Drop off during regular office hours. These materials will be recycled and the congregation will receive a cash rebate. A win-win opportunity!
