August Update
  From the Executive Director:
As we head into the home stretch of summer, let us pause to give thanks for another incredible camping season at Pilgrim Pines.  Camp Squanto has concluded its programming for 2016.  We are in the final week of Family Camp here at Mayflower.   The lake is full of families seeking relief from the hot summer sun.   It appears that the Snack Shack is STILL the most popular attraction on campus based on the ice cream lines.  We have hosted family gatherings and church outings in addition to our own programming.  We have ministered to children of all ages.  We have served our adults through our speaker series and other unique program offerings.   Virtually everyone encountered along the way speaks to seeing us all next year.  What a blessing those words are.  Before we roll into our fall season / calendar, I wanted to acknowledge this very special summer ministry, a ministry that so many hold dear.  God is at work among us.  We aspire to be the hands and feet of Jesus.  Let us serve you.   Thank you for being part of this ministry journey.

Planning for 2017 and beyond is getting off the ground.  I hope to be able to share glimpses of what we have in mind in the very near future.  To date, I have hosted over forty meetings with members (or couples) of the Pilgrim Pines family.  Thank you for your insights and priorities.  We hope to be able to include what is most important to you all as plans come together.  This is OUR camp.  Together, WE will see that Pilgrim Pines is positioned to serve future generations.

Thanks for a GREAT summer.

Scott W. Lee
Executive Director
  Thank You Summer Volunteers!
On Tuesday evening, August 9th, Pilgrim Pines hosted a dinner to honor our summer volunteers.  For generations, our volunteers have played a vital role in advancing our ministry.  This summer was no exception.  The dinner was a small gesture of our thanks and appreciation.  All had a great time.  Thank you to the Sowers, Carolyn and Phil Johnson, Isabelle and John Boutcher, Maria and David Palmeira, Dottie and Bob Dvorak, Sue and Ken Brooks, Bob and Joann Spencer,  Laurel Anderson, Nancy Karlson, Delphie Anderson and Gunnar Anderson and to our many volunteers not pictured.

Fundraising for Camp Scholarships - Handmade Quilt for Sale
Our sister, Diane Crandall, a longtime member of the Pilgrim Pines family, has generously donated a handmade quilt for fundraising purposes.  Her gift is intended to generate funds for camp scholarships.  We are asking $500.  (We would be happy to accept more should a generous heart be motivated to bless us with a more significant gift).  Our scholarship fund is used each year to send kids to camp, kids that otherwise would be unable to attend due to financial circumstances.   The quilt is absolutely beautiful.  Thank you, Diana for your creative gift and generous heart. We will do our best to fulfill your mission.  Interested parties should contact Executive Director, Scott Lee at  603-352-0443  /   scott@pilgrimpipnes.org.

Camping Area "Stay Put" Policy
The day has come for us to give serious consideration to updating / upgrading our camping area facility.  Our leadership and facilities teams are gathering information from various sources with crafting a project plan in mind.  While we make our way through possibilities and options, we are recommending that our campers remain on their current sites through the 2017 camping season.  As plans come together, we will keep our camping area folks posted.  Should trailers, at some point, need to be moved, our goal is to give sufficient notice so that a last minute scramble is avoided.  Additional information will be shared as it becomes available.  Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to Scott Lee, Executive Director   scott@pilgrimpines.org 603-352-0443 .

Financial Snapshot
It is with great joy and gratitude that we are able to share more good news about our 2016 camping season.  At Camp Squanto, we hosted a total of 667 campers, up 62 (+10.2%) over 2015.   As for the overall performance of our ministry, as of July 31st, registration income is up 11.7% over 2015.  Thanks to all of you for your continued support and commitment to Pilgrim Pines.

As for our undesignated / operational giving, we are still well below where had hoped to be.  As of July 31st,  we are 19.2% below our 2015 position and 25% below our 2016 fund raising targets.  The good news is that there is still time to finish the year strong!  Our fiscal year doesn't end until  9-30-16.  Please prayerfully consider making a financial gift to Pilgrim Pines.  This ministry means SO much to SO many people.  While registration income is an important part of the story, we simply don't exist without the generosity of our donors.     Please feel free to reach out to our Executive Director Scott Lee directly should you be interested in exploring how to join our donor family (scott@pilgrimpines.org /  603-352-0443).

Product and Service Donation
Imagine owning a home with hundreds of beds, 96 toilets, multiple electronics, multiple wifi locations, a fleet of vehicles, power equipment, etc.
As you can imagine it takes lots to keep the place going.
Pilgrim Pines is always looking for more partners in its ministry.  If you are interested in partnering with us, there are several ways you can contribute. Take a look at our product & services page for ways you can help. Or feel free to make a direct donation by clicking the DONATE button below.

Our hope is that you will continue to faithfully walk with us, as you have in the past.  So, we are asking you to please consider joining us on this journey with your gifts of talent, time, and treasure.

Volunteer Opportunities
Pilgrim Pines welcomes volunteers all year long
Whether you come by yourself, with your family or through a church group. We are blessed by volunteers who help in the kitchen, serve as weekend hosts, assist in the Mayflower office and work on maintenance projects.
We can really use some volunteer help now and into the fall as we are clearing some areas of overgrowth in the camping area.

Your church may even be interested in our " Adopt-a-Cabin" program. When a church adopts a cabin they commit to an annual donation toward its maintenance and often send a volunteer group to specifically tend to their cabin's needs.  Contact  Jim Condap  if your church is interested in volunteering or the Adopt-a-Cabin program.
