2016 Apple Tree Project recap
The Apple Tree Project wrapped up after m ore than 30 volunteers and staff members provided back-to-school assistance to 1,500 children from more than 560 families. Each child was provided a backpack, school supplies, and a gift card to purchase new shoes.

Most of the students also received two new sets of clothing thanks to the generosity of businesses and individuals throughout the community who acted as donors and host sites. IFM  Spotlight
Melody Treviño initially began her involvement with IFM Denton as a temporary caseworker back in 2003.

It wasn't until 2006 that she was called to fill the role as a full-time employee. Since then, Melody has become an integral part of the IFM team acting as a liaison between our clients and the services that we provide. Melody is one of the most recognizable faces of our organization who, everyday, is a giver of hope and a source of comfort to the clients we serve.

T his month we honor the hard work and dedication that Melody has shown over the past 10 years and happily celebrate the anniversary of adopting a very special and hardworking member into our family at IFM.
Honk! Honk! Driving Revenue
How the Charity Cars Program Started
Over the past nine years, Interfaith Denton Charity Cars (IDCC) has raised $150,000 for IFM.

Many sweat hours were contributed at the front end of what has become a very successful and long-term fundraising program for IFM. Back then, folks volunteered to clean and photograph newly donated vehicles.

Just recently we switched to an all-in-one service through Insurance Auto Auctions' (IAA) Donation Division. IAA tows the vehicle at no charge, sells it at auction, gives the donor a sales receipt for tax deduction purposes and IFM receives most of the proceeds.

Did you know you can donate more than just old cars? You can also donate:

boats heavy equipment
motorcycles personal watercraft
snowmobiles trucks

If you would like to donate, please contact IAA at 1-800-269-6814 and be sure to mention your donation is for Interfaith Ministries.

Remembering Our Family
Kyla Aesha Foster was a clerical volunteer with IFM. Kyla, a New York native, played the drums and basketball before discovering her passion for art. Kyla graduated cum laude from UNT and continued pursuing her passion during her long battle with cancer. Kyla and her contagious laugh will be missed by her family and by all who knew her.
Rachel Lynda Mays acted as a volunteer caseworker for many years with IFM, providing assistance and resources to our clients. Rachel had a master's degree from NTSU and was nationally recognized for implementing innovative programs and reforms during her time as NTSU's Director of Food Services. Rachel was an avid bridge player, a wonderful public speaker, and was admired by many in our community.
