A Letter of Abundance
from our Director

Dear Women Writing for (a) Change Community,

null
Are you, like me, wondering where summer went? I had been waiting all spring for that Full Strawberry Moon in June, but before I could say "summer solstice", June slipped through my fingers along with July. Evening ice creams and fireflies are now cycling towards shorter days and bonfire nights. This year spirals forward as all years do, marking time with rituals and moments.

This 25th anniversary year for WWf(a)C has been a joy! Plans for the year have been in the works since early 2015, and many individuals have helped to envision, plan and create a fitting way to celebrate this incredible organization. Several events honor our roots and remind us of how we arrived at this moment in time. They also express gratitude for Founder Mary Pierce Brosmer and for her vision and wisdom. More than anything, the goal is for this year to be one of abundance: to give back to the members of this generous community, by offering celebratory programs and events that are affordable or free!  Read More...
Gratitude and Appreciation
Donors Bring Us to 25 Years

"I love words. So many times on the job,  in relationships, words, beautiful words  are judged, misjudged and turned around. It is so nice to be in the environment w here words are loved, shared and celebrated in peace."   -Adult participant

With tremendous gratitude and appreciation to all our donors, THANK YOU! Without you, this milestone 25th Anniversary of Women Writing for (a) Change would not be possible. With these gifts, you encourage writing in community as a form of self-expression and self-discovery. You provide scholarships for women and young women who otherwise could not experience these circles. Your gifts support summer camps for girls and outreach classes for teens at risk for homelessness, girls from less advantaged backgrounds, coed groups at local elementary schools, and so much more!

Through your contributions, you make Women Writing for (a) Change possible--thriving and stronger than ever at 25! Thank you!

25th Anniversary Abundance Circle
September 10 - 3:30-5:30pm

At our recent WWf(a)C Reunion, a small stone was given to each participant. Connecting to that ritual, this 25th Anniversary Abundance Circle invites women and men who have participated at WWf(a)C to write a 'small stone of abundance'* then come to sit in Circle on Saturday, September 10th. Our shared intention is to name the abundance offered inwardly and outwardly into the world along with and through WWf(a)C community wisdom and practices. The circle will be followed by a potluck meal.

*Small stone:
"...brief sentences or a paragraph of palpable moments of carefully observed" abundance, "a little glimpse into the wonder of life through the portal of a single thing or scene studied carefully." (Fiona Robyn, www.asmallstone.com; see also her book,  Small Stones: A Year of Moments ).

If you cannot attend, you may still write a 'small stone,' emailing it to [email protected] by September 9th.

Please register by September 9th, to reserve a chair in the circle.
