The eighth named storm of hurricane season has developed in the Gulf of Mexico and could impact the mid-Atlantic coast this weekend, forecasts show. Tropical Storm Hermine could bring rain and wind to our area this weekend.

Please take some time now to review your hurricane and emergency preparedness plans, and continue to keep a close eye on the forecast now through the weekend.  Below are some helpful websites. As hurricane season approaches, it is important to always be prepared.

Boat Owners Association of the United States (BoatUS) has free tips and "tools" available online in the  Hurricane Resource Center at boatus.com/hurricanes.  The site includes a hurricane preparation worksheet, and an in-depth Guide to Preparing Boats and Marinas for HurricanesWhat Works Guide and checklists for what to do before and after a hurricane strikes and a number of helpful articles.  All of these resources are free and easily downloadable.    Make sure you take the proper steps to prepare your facility and customers in the event of a hurricane or storm.
