ALL SCHOOL MASS
We started the new school year off last week with our first all school Mass. Afterwards, Father Michael and Father Matt blessed the classrooms, as well as faculty, staff,and students to remain under God's protection for the new year.  We wish everyone a blessed school year.

GOLD RUSH RAFFLE STUDENT SALES
Remember students, sell your raffle tickets by Thursday, September 15, and receive 1 ice cream coupon for every 10 tickets sold!  Ice cream coupons are to be redeemed in the cafeteria. Also, when returning tickets and money, please make sure the student's name is on the envelope.  Thank you!

PANTHER SPORTS YARD SIGNS
Show your support for your favorite Panther Athlete, Cheerleader or Marching Band Member with a Panther yard sign.  Signs are $20 and may be customized for students in elementary through high school.   Please click on the link for an order form, and return to the main office. Go Panthers!  

"THE LOFT" IN THE KINZEL CENTER
In the balcony of "The Den", located within the Kinzel Center, is "The Loft", a loge style venue available to rent for $75 per event.  The Panther "Loft" is a one-of-a-kind area for viewing high school events. It's a premium place to watch a sporting event, musical performance or concert.  The Advancement and Development office is now taking reservations for "The Loft" rentals for the 2016-2017 school year. PARTNER WITH THE PANTHERS
Own a business, know someone who does?  Ask them to join the Panthers through advertising opportunities on the video scoreboards and indoor and outdoor signage.  Any business can get involved with the Panthers for as little as a $150 investment.  Revenue generated through these advertisements supports SCCS with tuition assistance, capital improvements, teacher compensation, and student services.  Contact Ms. Cindy McClung at  [email protected] or 419-626-1892 x 314 for additional information or click here for advertising options.  

VICTORY DAY 2016
Victory Day returns for the third year to Kalahari Field at Huron Memorial Stadium on Saturday, September 10, from 2-3:30pm. The Huron and St. Mary Central Catholic High School varsity football teams, cheerleaders ,and marching bands are co-hosting a special event for children with severe learning and physical disabilities. Participants will be partnered with a Huron High School or St. Mary football player or cheerleader who will serve as their mentor for the day. Each child is provided with a full game day experience and given an opportunity to run or catch a pass for a touchdown.  Please join us for this wonderful event!

CLASSROOM VOLUNTEERS AND CHAPERONES 
Anyone interested in becoming a classroom helper, field trip chaperone, coach or any other volunteer opportunity working directly with students are required to complete the following: 
1. FBI and BCI Records Check. This can be completed at the Sandusky License Bureau. Cost is approximately $61, cash only.
2. Protecting Our Youth Shield the Vulnerable Online Course , the cost for this course is approximately $6.

Copies of the FBI & BCI Records Check and Protecting Our Youth Course certificate of completion must be on file in the SCCS Main Office.

The Uniform Exchange is fully stocked and has a great selection of gently used school uniforms and Panther Gear.
 
FACTS ENROLLMENT PROCEDURES
If you have chosen to pay your 2016-2017 tuition through FACTS, the following steps are required to set up your account:
 
Once the information is submitted to FACTS, your name and agreement number will appear on the SCCS Pending Agreement List. At that point, the school will enter the tuition amount due and finalize the agreement. An annual Fee of $41.00 will be withdrawn 5 days prior to the first payment. After the agreement is finalized, FACTS will send you an email to confirm the agreement and notify you of the date the $41.00 fee will be deducted from the bank account or charged to the credit card you provided.

MILE FOR MARY
Join the Sandusky Catholic Community for the 4th Annual Mile for Mary on Saturday, September 17, at 11:00am .  This is an awesome event to show our support for our Church and community.  The Mile for Mary starts at 11am at Sts. Peter and Paul Church. 

FATHER MICHAEL JEANS DAY
In celebration of Father Michael's birthday, there will be an all school jeans day on Tuesday, September 6.  Happy Birthday Father Michael!

PICTURE DAY!
All school picture day is scheduled for Wednesday, September 7.  Picture orders are optional, however all students will be photographed.  Please have your student dress in their school uniform for pictures.

FALL MUSIC BOOSTER MEETING
Tonight, September 1, is the Fall Music Booster meeting for parents of students of band members, grades 5-12 and  choir members, grades 9-12. The meeting is at 7:00pm in the bandroom. There will be very important information to share about the upcoming trip to Nashville.

POSITION AVAILABLE
Part-time dishwasher position is available in the SCCS cafeteria.  Hours are 2 days one week, 3 days the next week, 9:30am - 2:15pm.  Please pick up an application in the main office if you are interested. Pay is minimum wage.

PICK UP PROCEDURES
Just a friendly reminder that at pick up, the lane closest to the school will be designated for preschool parents until 2:40. Thank you for your help!

PANTHER MINI CHEER CLINIC
Saturday, October 8, the Panther Cheerleaders will be hosting a football season mini cheer clinic for students in preschool through 5th grade.  The High School and Junior High cheerleaders will work with the students to learn healthy nutrition, proper stretching techniques, motions, jumps, sideline chants, group cheer, tumbling, and dances.  Participants will receive a team t-shirt and are invited to join our Panther cheerleaders during the first quarter of the Varsity football game.  The football game is also "pink out" night, so we would love to see everyone decked out in their pink gear in support of breast cancer awareness and prevention!  Please click here for registration form.

STATE THEATRE TRIP
On Wednesday, September 14, students in grades 1-3 will be taking a walking field trip to The Sandusky State Theatre for the opportunity to see the live performance of "Town Mouse and City Mouse."  All costs associated with this program have been underwritten by the principal benefactors of the Randolph J. and Estelle M. Dorn Foundation, Frost Parker Foundation and the Rotary Star Program. 

PANTHER FLAG FOOTBALL
Panther Flag Football League registration is underway for students in Kindergarten through Grade three. The league will meet on Saturdays in September at Zierolf Field from 9:30-10:45am. The cost is $30 and includes a t-shirt and snacks. Please register by September 3rd. Click here for a registration form.

MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL NEWS

"WORDS HURT" PROGRAM
SCCS 8th grade students will be attending a bullying assembly off campus next Wednesday, September 7, from 11:50am-2:15pm. Students will be completing assignments in health class to follow-up with this field trip.

CHUCK EALEY'S UNDEFEATED SPIRIT PROGRAM
Students in grades 6-8 will be attending the Undefeated Spirit Program next Thursday, September 8, at Kalahari Resort Convention Center. We will be joining students from around the area to hear Chuck Ealey's speech regarding his Undefeated Spirit. For more information on the program, please click here.

ALL SEASON SPORTS PASS
Get an All Season Sports Pass to any SCCS home contest for grades 7-12 for only $100. Pass will be on sale in the main office. Go Panthers!

HIGH SCHOOL RECOMMENDED ENGLISH TEXTBOOK
The SMCC English Department recommends that all high school students purchase a personal copy of the MLA Handbook, 8th edition. This book is a guide for citation and style that students will reference throughout their high school and college years .
