Exploring STEM Municipal Conversations
OregonASK is going on the road again to build awareness around
the importance of bringing STEM opportunities to all students. Our first event was held at the Hillsboro Public Library on August 24th and had over 50 community partners in attendance, including mayors from four Washington County cities and US Congresswomen Bonamici.
We are working with local STEM Hubs and partners to convene conversations around the amazing work being done throughout the state as we try to engage more municipal leaders in this work going forward.
We will highlight the state STEM Strategic Plan as we discuss how each region may provide a more coordinated system of support for informal STEM learning.
Thanks to our grant from the National League of Cities Institute for Youth, Education and Families, we will be making 6 more stops around Oregon this fall.
