CALLING ALL PASADENA-AREA TEEN MUSICIANS!

Pasadena Educational Foundation Now Accepting Song Submissions for
ROCK 4 PEF Battle of the Bands

PASADENA, CA - The Pasadena Educational Foundation (PEF) is now accepting submissions from Pasadena-area teen bands for the ROCK 4 PEF Battle of the Bands. This inaugural event will begin at 2 pm on Sunday, September 21 at Levitt Pavilion in Old Town Pasadena. Al Madrigal, comedian and star of NBC's About a Boy, will be the guest MC for this free community event. Deadline for band submissions is Wednesday, August 20.

Local bands will be selected to play at the Battle of the Bands concert through a two-tiered selection process (online voting and expert panel selection) with up to ten bands selected to play at the Battle of Bands. The top finalists will be given the chance to meet with members of Ozomatli for individual coaching sessions to help prepare them for the big day. Bands will be competing for a grand prize that includes studio time at Crown City Studios in Pasadena where they will walk away with a digital recording of their music, custom artwork that will be printed as both a poster and an album cover and the opportunity to open for the headliner at ROCK 4 PEF.

ROCK 4 PEF, a benefit concert in support of the Pasadena Educational Foundation and music programs in Pasadena Unified schools, will be held on Saturday, October 11 at Farnsworth Park Amphitheater in Altadena. This will be a ticketed event featuring bands, food trucks, and a beer garden.
