Burkini Ban


Sky News: FFEU European Director Samia Hathroubi was also interviewed by Sky News and other media outlets about the burkini affair after top French court overturned controversial burkini ban. Her response: "a very good decision."

Srebrenica Memorial 

Samia Hathroubi visited Srebrenica this week for the memorial of the genocide of Bosnian Muslims killed in July 1995. 
She met with survivor, Hasan Nuhanovic, who was one of the interpreters during the trial in the International court on Ex Yugoslavia in the Netherlands. 
During a time of rising hatred in Europe, Auschwitz and Srebrenica continue to remind us to keep active in the fight against antisemitism and islamophobia: the them of this year's Season of Twinning.

Muslims in Europe: Challenges of Pluralism

Ms. Hathroubi is among the 25 Muslim leaders and academics from Western countries participating in IIIT European Summer School 2016 program, "Muslims in Europe: Challenges of Pluralism" in Sarajevo from August 10-24, 2016. It is organized by the Center for Advanced Studies, Sarajevo and Institute for Epistemological Studies Europe.
