The Nonprofit Leadership Excellence Award honors the leadership and accomplishments of the CEO or Executive Director of a nonprofit organization. Find details and the nomination form here.
The Minnie Rubek Staff Excellence Award recognizes a nonprofit staff member or team who has quietly gone "above and beyond" in their commitment and dedication to their organization and its mission. Find details and nomination form here.
Honorees will be recognized at the Celebration of Community on Wednesday, November 16, from 4-6 p.m. at the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library. Save the date!

Nonprofit Know-How September 20
Have questions about the overtime labor law changes and how it affects your nonprofit? Join us at Nonprofit Know-How: Understanding Recent Changes in Overtime Labor Law on Tuesday, September 20, from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. at the Community Foundation. Paul Thelen, JD, Assistant Director at the Larned A. Waterman Iowa Nonprofit Resource Center, will present an overview of the changes, address your questions and scenarios, and overview additional common employment issues in the nonprofit sector. Fall Grant Cycle Announced
The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation announces the fall grant cycle for local charitable nonprofits. Applications will be accepted through Friday, October 14, 2016 and grants will be awarded to organizations that enhance the quality of life in Linn County. The online grant portal will open on Wednesday, September 14, 2016. Visit here for more information about the fall grant cycle funds.

Volunteer Management Series Begins September 14
The Volunteer Centers of Iowa, in partnership with the Iowa Commission on Volunteer Service, is hosting a web-based training resource for Iowa nonprofit, public, faith-based, and service organizations. The six sessions of the Volunteer Management Training Series will run September 14 to November 22. See detailed course descriptions here . Local partner is United Way of East Central Iowa. Iowa Cultural Corridor Alliance Call for Nominations
The Iowa Cultural Corridor Alliance will present several awards at its annual meeting, the Celebration of the Arts, on November 15, 2016 at Hancher Auditorium. Awards are: Collaborative Award, Reaching Out Award, the Larry Eckholt Award, and the Peggy Whitworth Award. Please visit here for more information about the award categories.
