This Week in Westcreek

Current Announcements

"Lay a firm foundation with the bricks that others throw at you." ~ David Brinkley

From the Community Manager's Desk

Quincy Harper Sr.
I hope you all had a great weekend.  I was truly amazed at the turnout for Jubilee last weekend, we had around 400  participate in the event.

If you see Dawn Garza our Sports and Recreation Superintendent, you should thank her for her passion and efforts with pulling this off.
I've lived and worked in a lot of Associations and I know from experience that Dawn (and the entire staff) really did a great job putting on the event.

With the recent rain, Soccer games have been postponed until Saturday, August 27, 2016, to allow the players an additional practice this week.  Lastly, since school has officially started, please slow down and be extra watchful this week while driving.

Thank you for your support and understanding. Please contact the staff, the Board or me if you have any questions.

Don't forget to check "This Week in Westcreek" for future updates!

In early August, each homeowner should have received the Spectrum postcard pictured above.

We encourage you to immediately register your online service center account at www.spectrumam.com using the access code provided on the back of your postcard.

If you have any questions, or need anything at all, give us a call at 210-679-8761 or chat with us online using the Live Chat feature.

AMENDED VWOA OFFICE HOURS:

Monday - Friday:   10:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M.

The U.S. Postal Service reaches every home and business in the country. The vast majority of the mail it delivers arrives intact, but thieves persist in their efforts to steal it.  In recent weeks, we have seen more reports of mailbox break-ins within the Villages of Westcreek.

Postal Inspectors use proven remedies to address the problem. They team with the Postal Service to devise new security strategies that thwart thieves. You can help by reporting suspected mail theft or identity theft.

Call Metro Waste Systems to get the low price of $19.99 per month for Twice Weekly Trash and Once Weekly Recycling collection.  Your choice of a small recycling bin or large container at no extra cost.  But hurry, this offer is only good until October 31, 2016!

Please call their friendly staff at 210-807-8555 and mention Promo Code: CREEK to take advantage of this offer for The Villages of Westcreek Community.

PROPERTY MAINTENANCE

The Homeowner/Tenant shall keep the premises in a well maintained, safe, clean and attractive condition at all times. This includes, but is not limited to, items visible from the street or adjoining property, such as: yards, fences, structures, furniture, play equipment, windows, window screens, solar screens, blinds, curtains, etc.

Refusal to maintain residential properties after several notices go unheeded and it becomes evident that the Homeowner/Tenant has no intention to comply as requested, the VWOA has the right to:
  1. Perform the maintenance; and
  2. Demand reimbursement from the Homeowner for the incurred cost. Such cost shall constitute a lien upon the property and is enforceable and collectible in accordance with the CC&Rs.
(Refer to VWOA-CC&Rs, Article X, Section 10.12; Article XI, Section 11.02; and Article XIII, Section 13.03 s.)

A Special Thank You to the 16 residents who signed up to donate Blood during the Westcreek Jubilee. Only 2 were deferred.  We met our goal of 14 units. That is awesome!  That is up to 42 lives saved!  It is communities like ours that truly understand the need to help save lives.

If you have any questions about what you owe, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss those charges with you.

If there are extenuating circumstances that have led to you not being able to pay your association dues or if you need a little extra time, you may consider requesting a payment plan.
Payment Plans can be requested by contacting Melynda Porter at (210) 679-8761.

Did you do anything fun this past weekend? If you didn't, do you wish you had known about some of the events/activities going on around the city?

When my family moved to Westcreek in 2009, we were new to San Antonio and didn't know much about the area. We often didn't know about events until they were over. I started researching and reading local magazines, web sites, calendars, newspapers and discovered there is so much more to do.

If you'd like to learn about local happenings and fun activities, there is a simple way to get the information delivered right to your email inbox every week. You can subscribe to the FREE list I compile and send on Fridays. There will be a web site eventually, but in the meantime it is emailed.

To see this week's list, CLICK HERE to download and print!
