ITEP Welcomes Interns From Grinnell College This Summer
Another ITEP first! Two students from Grinnell College joined the team this summer to support ITEP's internship and industry coaching programs. These devoted interns reviewed program offerings, researched best practices, and made recommendations to enhance structure and innovate both student and employer participation.
Here's what they said about their experience at ITEP:
"After sharing my thoughts on pervious workshops I had participated in and worked on, I was asked to help facilitate and run a workshop activity. This stood out to me because it demonstrates how communicating and sharing ideas can lead to further opportunities and rewards." - Teresa Villareal

Needed Now: Monthly Mentors
If you could share some advice with your 16-year-old self, what would you say?
Share your career journey and help ITEP students find their way toward college and career success.
ITEP is looking for 60 mentors to meet with 10th graders on a monthly basis for five to six 90-minute sessions throughout the school year.
Meet with a handful of students at one or more high school campuses close to your work or home.

Staff Spotlight: Ana Cortez
Meet Ana, ITEP's Program Assistant and alum from Phineas Banning High School, International Trade Academy.
Her question:
What key takeaways from your ITEP internship do you carry with you today?
Her response:
Through my ITEP internship, I learned the value and rewards of hard work, gained confidence in my abilities, and discovered the importance of building a strong network. Interning at the Port of Los Angeles when I was 16 was pretty intimidating. I was surrounded by adults who were successful, confident, and strived to perfect their skills. The first week I was nervous, but I knew I could do it! Today, I still have that mentality. If it scares me a little, it will push me and help me succeed.
