Rodman Rider Spotlight: Rich Schwarz
Rich Schwarz
is a long-time Big Brother and participant in the Rodman Ride for Kids. When asked how he expects to feel crossing the finish line this year, he said "It's always a great feeling to have crossed. Each year, Big Brothers Big Sisters participates in t

Rodman Ride for Kids
, an umbrella matching gift charity that generously raises funds for organizations that support at-risk kids across Massachusetts. We recruit individuals and teams to fundraise on our behalf and ride 25, 50, or 100 miles at the event on September 24th. Our goal is to raise $110,000. "In 2014, Harrigan moved to Worcester from California to work with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Mass/Metrowest and has since volunteered with the United Way of Central Mass, Regional Environmental Council, Community Harvest Project and Kaya Children International. Hawley works as a public administration professor at Clark University. Harrigan is an avid traveler and has lived, volunteered and worked abroad in China, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Spain..." Big Brothers Big Sisters C.A.R.E.S.
We are excited to announce a new partnership
with two statewide programs that will help form
BBBS C.A.R.E.S.
, our new assistance program designed to support our most at-risk and vulnerable Littles and their families. BBBS C.A.R.E.S. will include our new partnership with
Cradles to Crayons
, a nonprofit agency whose mission includes the provision of clothing, books, and other essential items to low-income children and their families. Additionally, we have partnered with the Axuda program, a nonprofit initiative from the DCU Foundation. Axuda is a crowd-funded platform whereby families in emergency situations can apply for no-interest loans (up to $600) to address emergency situations.
