A Word from the Board - Board Director - Jim Ringness
|
|
|
Jim Ringness Board Director |
|
It is been an honor to serve on the Chamber Board of Directors these past three years. I am in the final year of my term. It has been a great experience working with my fellow board members and the awesome chamber staff. They all work very hard to make St. Charles a better place to run a business. I have been proud to continue the long tradition of my Shaw Media predecessors participating on the Chamber Board. I view our business partnership with the all the local chambers as an important part of our community involvement.
I continue my assignment as the board liaison for the legislative committee. The legislative committee works hard to identify and communicate legislative issues on the local, state & national level. The committee provides regular opportunities for chamber members to engage with our local politicians so that their voice can be heard. I would ask that if you are a Chamber member and find yourself interested in the legislative process please contact our chamber staff about joining the committee.
The best advice I can provide to you as a chamber member is to get involved with one of the many committees that represent all parts of our community. The chamber can only be as strong as its members and I am confident you will see many benefits by becoming involved.
Recently, I was pleased to help the chamber board develop a new vision statement. The vision is:
Building a vibrant and prosperous community through business leadership
I do hope that you will be inspired to become involved in some of the great opportunities the chamber provides to its membership. We can all make our community a better place.
Jim Ringness

41st Annual Golf Outing
Royal Fox Country Club
4405 Royal & Ancient Drive, St. Charles, IL 60174
The 41st Annual Golf Outing at Royal Fox Country Club was a huge success this year; we had perfect weather for this event. The theme "The Olympics" couldn't have been timed better; the opening ceremony for the Olympics was the Friday before our event. We had fun with this theme with our games, decorations, program and medals given away to the golfers! Once out on the course, golfers had a wonderful day. Solutions Networking Corp. won the large 1st place traveling trophy. Everyone enjoyed learning the winners of the raffle, 50/50, and restaurant gift certificates. This event couldn't have been successful without our sponsors, committee members, volunteers, and golfers. Thank you so much everyone.

Cruise Nites
Riverside Ave
, STC
This summer Cruise Nites has been a huge success. With an average of 91 cars per night, we drew in spectators from many towns around. For the first time, a food and beer tent was offered. Attendees felt more relaxed as they could lounge in the patio of the old Chord on Blues building. While relaxing, attendees heard live bands for the first time at our Cruise Nites. Our live entertainment included: Behind The Beats Productions, The MacCartyns and 97.1 The Drive.
On August 16, one of our sponsors organized a group of Lamborghini's and Porsche's. One vehicle was actually valued at one million dollars. We had several people mention to us that they loved seeing these cars and it improved the quality of our event.
Featured Night Sponsors:
Costco, Detour Graphic Design and New Media, Inc., Excel Automotive Repair, St. Charles, IL, Imperial Gutter Services, McNally's Heating and Cooling, and NicKey Performance
Thank You to our other Vendor & Restaurant Sponsors:
