Welcome Back Fall 2016 Newsletter

In This Issue
Greeting from the Director and Graduate Assistant
Welcome all  new, incoming, & returning LGBTQA+ & Ally students, faculty, & staff!

We are so ecstatic to welcome you or welcome you back to the Wright State LGBTQA+ & Ally Chosen Family!  The Office of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer & Ally Affairs serves all Wright State students, staff, faculty, and alumni through four core tenets: Advocacy, Community Engagement, Education, & Success.
The Office of LGBTQA Affairs accomplish these tenets by:
  • Advocacy- Recommending & maintaining best Institutional policies and practices that ensure the holistic development and success of the LGBTQ & Ally communities at Wright State University.
  • Community Engagement- Facilitating cultural programs, advising & supporting student organizations, and fostering relationships with the greater Dayton community.
  • Education- Producing multiple educational opportunities for the Wright State Community to develop a stronger understanding of the complex intersections of Identity, Culture, & Social Justice Allyship.
  • Success- Providing resources and support that assist and affirm LGBTQ & Ally Wright State students, staff, and faculty to persist to their academic and professional goals.
We hope to meet you and build community with you at the many upcoming program, events, and meeting spaces we have scheduled for Fall 2016 semester.

We know for many it has been a difficult summer full of mourning, fear, and frustration. We hope by connecting with LGBTQA Affairs at Wright State that you find brave spaces and a community that helps you build your resiliency and empowers you to exist as your fully authentic self.

Sincerely,
Petey Peterson                                     Katie McGrath
