The Paulding Chamber of Commerce will continue their tradition of honoring local public safety officials at the Georgia Power Luncheon on September 1st sponsored by Metro Atlanta Ambulance.   Superior Court Judge Dean Bucci will serve as keynote speaker as the Chamber presents the Public Safety Recognition for Outstanding Service Award to an individual from Paulding County Sheriff's Department, Fire Department, Marshall's Bureau, District Attorney's Office, E911 Center, the City of Dallas and Hiram's Police Departments and Metro Atlanta Ambulance Service.  All of these recipients are submitted by the organization leaders for their commitment and dedication to the citizens they serve.

Michael Mason
The Paulding County Chamber of Commerce announced it hired Michael Mason as interim president while it conducts a nationwide search for a permanent holder of the job.
"I am honored to serve as the interim president during this period, " Mason said. " I look forward to working with the board, staff members and the Chamber of Commerce to continue its mission."
As the interim president, Mason will oversee a staff of four and also serve on the Paulding County Industrial Building Authority, Paulding County Airport Authority and any other committee the Chamber president is designated to serve on, the news release said. 
State law requires the chamber president to serve on the Airport and Industrial Building Authorities.
Mason is a chamber member who previously served on the Governmental Affairs committee. He is also a member of the Dallas Rotary Club and served as its president in 2015, the news release stated.
Mason has been a Paulding County resident since 2003 and has worked locally as an attorney and real estate consultant since 2011. He replaces Carolyn Wright, who retired earlier this summer after serving almost a decade as president.
Mason earned an undergraduate degree in finance for the University of Illinois and a juris doctorate from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo.

Leadership Paulding Nominations Now Being Accepted
 
     Leadership Paulding's purpose is to provide emerging leaders with a greater awareness of and participation in community issues, needs, services and resources. The program accepts twenty to thirty individuals each year who have been identified as leaders possessing a sincere commitment to making our community a better place in which to live and work. Participants also represent the diversity of the county in terms of occupation, profession, sex, race and geographic area. Nominees are selected from large and small businesses, the professions, government, public service and community volunteers.
