It is a great honor and privilege to serve as Franklin-McKinley School District’s Superintendent. I am excited to begin the 2016-2017 School year with a stellar team of educators and our visionary Board of Education to support our students. Our goal is to ensure ALL students are provided a safe and caring environment in which to learn and grow.
Too many absences—excused or unexcused—can keep students from succeeding in school and in life. How many are too many? 10% of the school year—that’s 18 missed days or 2 days a month—can knock students off track. September is Attendance Awareness Month. Help your child get to school on time!
How to Understand the Meaning of your Child's Challenging Behavior
As a parent or caregiver, you may see your child behave in a way that doesn’t make sense and ask yourself, “Why does she keep doing that?” It can be very frustrating, especially when it seems like it should be easy for your child to figure out on her own a more appropriate way to behave. In moments like this, it is important to remember that children continue to use a behavior because it works!
The Franklin-McKinley School District looks forward to starting the 2016-2017 school year with a new brand identity. The new logo symbolizes the growth, academic excellence, innovation, and diversity of the Franklin-McKinley School District.
