Summer Worship - Come "Chill" at Church

Two more Sundays of our 9:30 a.m. summer service! Enjoy the A/C on these hot, humid days as we praise God in prayer and song. Even if you don't normally worship with music, please gather with the whole community to share fellowship and receive the grace of Christ in Word and Sacrament. It is important that we are all present for one another. Phil Campbell will even sing that classic hymn, "Blessed Assurance" at Communion - not to be missed! See you Sunday!

Dear Epiphany,

For the last two weeks much of the world has enjoyed the Summer Olympic games in Rio. Each year athletes perform feats of strength, grace and sheer endurance exceeding their limits and celebrating great triumphs. There are inspiring moments of sacrifice and sportsmanship along the way too. This Sunday, we'll consider one such story of two female runners who, though strangers and competitors, helped each other to stand up and finish after they'd fallen on the track. Why sacrifice your own race to help someone else at exactly the wrong time, in the middle of your life's biggest competition? Because that is the way of Jesus. That is the Christian life. Sunday's Gospel parable will help us to understand how. Jesus heals a woman who has been bent over for 18 years and helps her to stand as well. What has you bent over and how can we help each other to stand into the fullest, most beautiful expression of the person God has created us each to be?
In Christ,
Rev'd Jen

In the rear of the sanctuary, you will notice we have designed a new sacred space for candle lighting, prayer and quiet respite. As you come into or leave the sanctuary, light a candle for a person or situation on your heart or in memory of a departed loved one. Take a prayer card from the table. Sit for a moment and listen for the Spirit. Join a friend in prayer. The space will have finishing touches put on by fall. Notice the moveable altar has been returned to the Parish Hall, the large kneeler is downstairs and our cross is hung on the wall.
